Cottage advertised as 3 star, with 3 bedrooms, kitchen facilities and shared bathroom.
This appeared to suit our needs as we had a party of 7 to accommodate.

Our trip started poorly with no-one to greet us on arrival. We tried telephoning both the landline and mobile numbers with no replies to either number.

On entering the cottage accommodation, it instantly smelled of dampness and was actually a run-down house beside the B&B. The kitchen was unclean with dirty appliances, mis-matched crockery and a grill tray full of grease. It was accessed via 2 entrances, either through a bedroom, or from outside via an external door.

The bathroom was in need of upgrading and much 'tlc', and the shower curtain rail was attached with elastic bands.

The bedrooms were of low standard, dusty, with poor quality furniture and worn out decor. They were not the actual photographed rooms advertised for the cottage on the website.

Two of our party left prior to breakfast due to the 'let down' and the poor facilities.

Breakfast in the main B&B was good, although the overall cleanliness of the establishment was let down again by a supposedly clean cup being stuck to a saucer.

If time had permitted we would have not stayed in this accommodation as it was definately sub-standard. We made our grievances known to the owner of the B&B who apologised, but passed the buck and blamed his wife for the sub-standardness!!!!!!!!

Initially I would have described this as bargain basement student accommodation, but I fear this is a grave insult to students. In hindsight, for similar money we could have booked rooms in a Travel Lodge. I feel this establishment is certainly not worthy of it's advertising or it's charges.
