I booked this for a Valentines meal with my wife, while on a short break to Edinburgh. I was told I could not have an 8pm booking as desired, but they could give me a table at 7pm, but would require it back by 9pm. Maybe the alarm bells should have rang then...
The food itself was wonderful, although a bit on the pricey side for what it was. However, the army of staff seemed only intent on rushing people through their meal. Only a couple of minutes after receiving the menus they were back wanting to know what we wanted. Plates, glasses etc were cleared from under our noses with no apology - new dishes were "dumped" in front of us. The main course arrived almost before we finished our starters.
We were so dissatisfied by the time of the dessert course that we decided to decline.
The staff were not courteous at all and what should have been a relaxed, memorable evening ended with us back on the street one hour and 5 minutes after our arrival.
Very disappointing indeed, especially as I chose this restaurant after reading good reviews.
A "special" evening, totally spoiled.
