very clean and tidy hotel and the pub next door was exellent too. town center easy to get too from this location shall stay here again .
Great hotel next to a lovely olde world pub. Excellent position, fantastic staff, lovely clean comfy rooms. Park n Ride for Edinburgh City Centre is opposite and is only 50p for 24hrs parking and the buses are cheap too. About 30mins to North Bridge, City Centre.
Staff were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Pub does excellent as much as you can eat breakfast, however found the evening menu a little pricey. McDs and the fantastic Fort Kinnaird Retail Park is just under the A1 bridge though.
We stayed at the Newcraighall Premier Inn as it was chosen by someone else. However our experience was a very good one. The room was immaculate and kept that way, the meals were generous and enjoyable with a good choice and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Inspite of its location next to a railway station there was little if any noise in fact as we were not driving it was ideal for us location wise, within a very short train trip to the centre of Edinburgh.
this was your standard Premier Inn.
"everything's premier but the price" doesn't really ring true. there wasn't really anything premier about it. the interiors were all a tad shabby and rundown. things needed a lick of paint and a freshen, but nothing to complain about - all in ok nick, just not "premier".
the guy on reception was absolutely superb. really fun and engaging as soon as you walk in the door. a real star and a nice guy.
the bed was huge and dead comfy.
had basically freeview tv.
not very good lighting and mirror arrangement for ladies doing their hair and make-up.
the pub next door is good. people seem to come from all around to eat there. solid fayre at good prices. good pub grub. generally speedy service, though they messed up our order- but gave us free drinks to compensate. breakfast on a sunday is only til 10am though!
the hotel is right next to newcraighall station and fort kinnaird shopping centre.
did its job to a good standard, and the reception dude was superb.
situated two train stops outside Edinburgh (train station opposite hotel) and next to a Bannatynes health club (ideal for a swim or morning sauna) this hotel is perfect for visiting this exciting city. Train cost is £7.40 return for a couple of people to travel into the city, which is a lot cheaper than paying for parking in Edinburgh !. Hotel as you would expect of a Premier Inn. Also a few minutes walk from Fort Kinnard shopping centre.
