We stay 2 weeks in one of these apts and it was very clean, and handy to the downtown. The apt was well equipped, altho no shampoo or baath soap, just hand soap at the sink. Luckily we carry our own. There is no wiFi service here The discounts at several restaurants and a nice gym in the area was a real bonus.
The service was good and any problems were minor and immediately addressed. The only issue was noise from the street. There is a bar across the road and closing time is 3am, so noise went on most of the night. UK windows are single pane so even closed they let in noise. Looks like he Grove St location would be quieter and closer to internet.
I would recommend this place for a stay in Edinburgh, but ask for a room facing the back.

Our one-bedroom Morrison Street apartment was comfortable, clean, well-equipped and well-provided, including tea, coffee, sugar and detergent, so it was surprising to find no shampoo and shower gel and to be told that this wasn't available. This is a real nuisance if you are flying with hand luggage only, as we were. Otherwise, I would have given the apartment 4 stars. The location was quite good, being about a 10-15 minute walk from Princes Street. The proximity to the police station was really only a problem on Saturday night.

Small apartment which was very clean. Not high end fixtures but functional, although the water pipes in the bathroom were incredibly noisy. We were walking down the stairs and could STILL hear them 2 floors down!! (BTW, there is no lift, and three floors of apartments.) The kitchen is fairly well stocked with basic utensils. They provided one breakfast pack (cereal, bread, butter, jam and milk) which kept us going for the few days we were there.

The website states there is high speed wi-fi. We did not have any access the whole time we were there. When we contacted reception, we were fobbed off and told that sometimes due to the heavy use, it can be hard to get access. There must be very heavy use, because we never found any network to connect to!!

Please note that check in and check out is situated on Grove Street, and the map on the door of the Morrison street apartment is misleading - it actually has the apartment block located on the wrong side of Morrison street, which had us going in the opposite direction when we went looking for Grove Street! Not fun with luggage in tow.

Housekeeping was haphazard. One day they came twice, the next day we actually had to phone twice as they never showed up and we needed some of the supplies restocked.

We stayed at the Morrison to celebrate our Valentines day. We loved that the building is so close to the Princess street so we didn't need to book taxis or take any transport to get to the centre.
We left our apartment in the morning and when we came back in afternoon it was clean and our fridge was stuck with fresh refreshments. Still we felt undisturbed and completely at home. The flat was simple but very cozy and most importantly pleasantly warm!!
The place really did make our stay wonderful. We couldn't ask for anything better.
Next time, when visiting Edinburgh we probably will try another Fountain Court Apartment building but only cause we are curious to see the difference.
