I stayed at the Chester Residence last weekend with five friends for my 30th birthday. The staff were aware it was a special weekend away and they made sure it was one to remember. Arriving at the hotel the GM Rory took us to our room where a bottle of pink fizz was awaiting us to start our weekend off. We decided to stay in on the Friday night as the surroundings were so beautiful and friends had come up from London. As the majority of girls had come from London they were very please to meet Neil the concierge in a kilt who felt like our own personal butler. Anything we needed he was straight down to the apartment to help. On the Saturday the staff asked our plans (which was shopping and lunch) and when we returned cakes and complimentary jo Malone products were given to us all. We we're getting ready to go out in the evening and Rory called down to see what time we were leaving, next thing we knew Neil came down and made a champagne cocktail got us all in the room before we head out. A perfect nights sleep followed then we woke to a beautiful range of breakfast goodies. You must experience this for yourself - it is exceptional

It is really so much more relaxed in your own (huge) appartment than being in a hotel but with friendly helpful staff if you need them as well it is truly the best of both worlds!

Our meet and greet service from the airport and checking us into our room with our luggage brought up for us was all flawless (and on our last day we just left our luggage in our room and the staff brought it down and put it in the taxi for us too).

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and when we had a problem with our coffee machine, it was sorted out immediately with a replacement one brought up in less than 10 mins. The kitchen has everything in it for making breakfast & lounging about with a cup of coffee (much more civilised than having to get up and dressed and down to breakfast!) and a really nice little touch is that the staff empty the dishwasher for you while you are out.

It really is a special place to stay and the only really, really minor negative was the lack of instructions for the TV, cooker and the clock radio/iPod (yes, all had us bemused!) but once figured out, the SKY plus was a bonus. That is, though, a really small point as the staff are very happy to help and next time I go back, I will know how to work everything!!

We first stayed here just before Christmas and were delighted with our 'penthouse suite apartment' from the moment we arrived we were met by the most welcoming of staff! Words can not describe the quality of service and this was recognised by the number of awards they has recieved. The reception staff, concierge, night porter and management team were outstanding and work so hard to make your stay so pleasurable! Always on call to attend to your every need. We chose to come again (Why wouldn't we we had such an amazing time) to be welcomed with the same friendly and cheery faces and found out that we had been upgraded to the 'VIP' suit. A room that can't be requested, you can only be upgraded too when considered a valued guest! We were really touched that they had remembered us from our previous stay, freindlyness really works both ways! The room was amazing... Could not believe our eyes. Cinema suit, massive Jacuzzi bath, large spacious bath with ensuit, molton brown goodies (available in otherapartments too) not to mention the luxurious interior. It gets me so excited to talk about it... We loved every minute of it! So happy to arrive and so as to leave. Planning our next trip already :D x

We celebrated my birthday with a trip to Edinburgh, where we stayed at both Chester Residence & The Witchery. Loved our time at Chester Residence, with staff who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive.. rooms are very chic, spotlessly clean, and i was very happy to find a Nespresso in the kitchen. Also loved the canopy / drinks eve where we got to exchange stories and meet other travelers! Special thanks to the staff who made my birthday celebration in Edinburgh very memorable. Will most definitely be back.
