“Home away from home”

Drumfin was the best place to come home to at the end of a busy day wandering Edinburgh or whatever your day includes. Always made to feel at home and warmly greeted by Rosemary whenever we returned. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the full breakfasts of choice were authentically homemade. Drumfin is only a10-15 minute casual stroll into Princess St and the Royal Mile and a quick cab ride back. We were staying there late August for the final weekend of the Festival, and Rosemary and her husband were always there to chat upon our return and were genuinely interested in our day - Ginty and Sita were too of course and greeted us like long lost relatives as only puppies can. It is great for location and proximity to the castle and Royal Mile, as well as a convenient place to start any out-of-town excursions. Rosemary is helpful with arrangements and even has the bus tour operators pick you up right at the door. We would recommend Drumfin to anyone that is in need of a great place to stay while in Edinburgh.

“Bad B&B”

Inconvienent location, several miles from downtown and airport. far from restaurants. Tiny rooms. Poor parking on a very busy street. Owner agreed by email prior to stay to accept travel vouchers, then refused when we arrived, and charged my charge card. 30min later, owner decided to accept vouchers, and supposedly refunded my card. Rather inhospitable, would not even suggest restaurants. There are better places to stay.

“Friendly comfortable and convenient B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

This is an oasis in a busy city! The bed was comfortable, breakfast excellent, location very convenient and the owner very friendly and helpful. Cannot understand how Chrisden of Syracuse could be so rude - must live on another planet!
Definitely a B & B to revisit!
Many thanks

“Great hospitality”

My cousin & I spent three nights here and felt that we were honoured guests in our host's( Rosemary) home situated in a quiet, up-scale neighbourhood. We had a twin ensuite that was very clean and well appointed with tasteful decor. Rosemary assisted us in planning our daily trips about the city & wisely suggested the local buses for which she had day passes for sale.

“Best Guest House in Edinburgh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2010

I stay at the Drumfin on a regular basis as I deliver training courses in Edinburgh - I even find myself staying there when I make other random trips. It is a real home from home. I have stayed in every room I think, and each one is extremely clean, has a television, hair dryer, iternet access, and own private toilet. I love it, and to be honest I get more of a decent night sleep there than I do at my own house. Breakfast is always on time and Rosemary and her husband are the best hosts ever. This is actually my first experience of a guest house compared to staying at a hotel and I was very dubious to start with, however I would recommend guest houses to everyone because I actually look forward to going away now knowing that it is so chilaxing, friendly and clean. You have got to stay there if you are visiting Edinburgh. It is slo close to the city centre, airport and other amenities. Their dog Ginty is a gem and you dont even notice that she is there (much more than I can say for my hyper puppy Zac!).
