“Fantastic Weekend. Would highly recommend this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We stayed here for the Scotland v England game for 2 nights with our two daughters.

From the moment we stepped through the door the service was absolutely brilliant. I had telephoned the hotel the week before to advise them that it was our daughters birthday on the Sunday and the Guest Relations Manager, Debby came out to personally greet us and speak to our daughter.

We could not have been prepared for the service we got on that Sunday morning considering the hotel was catering for so many guests for the Rugby weekend. The table had been decorated with balloons and confetti with a present and card for our daughter along with her own personalised Marriott name card made out to the birthday girl. She was offered a special hot chocolate drink which she thought was wonderful. We had arranged for a birthday cake to be brought out to the table after we had eaten and to our complete surprise this was delivered by the entire dining room staff singing happy birthday, you should have seen the smile on her face.

The staff here are wonderful and extremely helpful and go that extra mile, we were made to feel so very welcome. The room that we had was a deluxe family room which had it's own sleeping area for the children, the room was extremely clean and welcoming and the perfect size for a family of four.

The leisure facilities again were excellent and the pool was even better than it looked on the hotel website.

I have stayed in many hotels, but this was my first at the Marriott, and can truly say that if this is the standard level of service that you get then I will make sure that I stay in Marriott's all the time. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel and thank them for such a memorable stay.

“Really enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed in a deluxe room for 2 nights with my husband for the scotland v england match , got a good deal and had a lovely time.
Very well placed for the centre and Murrayfield, good atmosphere as the hotel was very busy and there were lots of rugby supporters staying.
The staff were really pleasant and helpful, the brakfasts were very good, the bar was nice for a lunch or snack and the pool was so pleasantly warm, Thw hotel was spotless and high standards of staff care and cleanliness were being offered to guests and a relaxed atmposphere--well done.

Room Tip: deluxe better

“Very nice hotel but a bit far from town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights recently in a deluxe room rate including breakfast. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly and helpful and the bar/reception area was very comfortable. The breakfast choice was great and freshly cooked items such as poached eggs were easy to order. The swimming pool area was as would be expected for this type of hotel and was clean and tidy. One thing that stood out for me was the service we received when we arrived late for breakfast due to contradictory iformation in the room pack. The staff restaurant staff and chef were happy to arrange for fresh omlettes for us without question as all of the hot food had been cleared away. One downside is the fact that it cost almost £15 for a taxi from the hotel to Nicolson Street and almost as much back to the hotel from Lothian Road later that night.

“excellent”

My husband and i stayed in the Marriott Hotel in Edinburgh for 1 night on 28th January 2012, the staff were lovely and very friendly, the room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was also very enjoyable.
The bus is a short trip from just outside the Hotel into City Centre of Edinburgh.
The Hotel was definately worth it's 4 stars. We will return to the Hotel.

“wonderful stay”

This was our first stay in this hotel and most certainly will not be the last. From moment we arrived at reception until we left, staff were very pleasant , and efficient.
Room spacious and spotless and bed comfortable.
Breakfast was superb and fried eggs cooked as you liked them ,not left to wither under hot lights as usually found at buffet breakfast.
Would most certainly recommend this hotel to other friends and colleagues. It was on the bus route and buses run regularly to and from City Centre, so no "in-town " car parking worries .
