“Service without a smile!”

Ideally located just off Royal Mile. Incredibly unhelpful staff who seemed to think they were doing you a huge favour by acknowledging your existence! Room adequate for price which is a shame as good service would of enhanced our stay. Beware if you are arriving by plane, check in is not until 3pm and they have no facility to store your luggage unless you pay an extra £10 for early check in.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter.

“Clean, comfortable, convenient to the sights.”

Reasonably easy walk from Waverley station. Just plain accommodation but all you need. No frills. Good price on Travelodge website but that does depend on the time of year. Just around the corner from the Royal Mile. Little Seven11 shop down the street where I bought supplies for breakfast. Don't buy breakfast at the hotel if you are on a budget. Tea, coffee in the room.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room at the back because of the busy traffic nearby. Got a room with very littl...

“Don't stay here if you want any sleep!!”

I stayed at the hotel on 31.1.12 and was allocated room 305 at the front of the hotel.
The room overlooked the cobbled street and due to the single glazing had little if any sleep due to the constant traffic noise. The single glazing did not in any way reduce the traffic noise. The noise was further compounded by a number of stag & hen parties arriving back at the hotel. In the morning I discussed the noise problem with a member of the hotel staff who explained that prior to joining Travelodge he had had the misfortune to stay at the hotel and hadn't slept either duer to the road noise!!!

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel!!

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed at this hotel for one night as was visiting Edinburgh for one night and 1 day. The hotel it'self is located in a good location. It is close to the town and bars and within easy walking distance to the bars, shops castle ect...... The only problem is that the hotel room was not clean. I was disappointed to notice that the room was not freshly hoovered and I know this because there were hair clips all over the floor and what looked like wood shavings at the side of the bed. But as I say you do get what you pay for! The room I stayed in was at the front of the hotel and it felt a little cold although I did turn up the heater. Also as a previous guest had said you get the traffic noise all night which was a shame. The window in the room felt like it was slightly open and could not be shut tight. I did not eat breakfast a the hotel as there a plent of places to have breakfast within a five minute walk evan on a Sunday and it was cheaper. You should not let this put you off going to Edinburgh as it is a great place to visit and would recommend going on one of the ghost trips, they ae only £10.00 and a great laugh.
