“What a lovely stay!”

Thank you very much for your kindness, Maureen.
The room we had was big enough for us and really clean and also in the morning we woke up, we saw one squirrel in the garden! The breakfast we had was very nice, too. we could spend calm and lovely time in great atmosphere.
When I arrived at this B&B, it was already late. It must have been around 11pm, but Maureen had warmly welcomed us with all her heart and every time we asked for some information about Edinburgh during this stay, she gave us very useful information.
To meet nice people makes the journey very special. That was it!
I hope we can see each other again soon! Take care.

“Nice and relaxing place to stay close to Edinburgh City Centre”

My friend and I really enjoyed staying at this guest house. The room was clean and cosy and the owner very friendly and helpful. Some people here on Tripadvisor have written the breakfast is basic, however we actually found it very refreshing with a healthy breakfast with lots of fruit as well as cereal, toast etc.

“Period Guest House in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

Elderfields is conveniently located to the Royal Mile. The prices are very good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Some rooms are smaller than others, but all are just fine for a stay in the city. The guest house is Victorian and very well kept in the period. The breakfast was the biggest let down. Cold pancakes, small portions of fruit, yogurt, cheese, meat and toast were served every morning. Although I have no problem eating these things for breakfast, the quality of the breakfast served was not good. Also, the owner requests payments to be made in cash.

“nice location, nice rooms”

a nice B&B very close to the beautiful Holyrood park and 5-10 minutes walk to the start of the Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. The room was nice and clean. Nothing special but everything was there, the owner friendly and the price reasonable (64 Pound for 2 people). the breakfast was basic, but good.

“Lovely and great value for money”

I stayed at this guesthouse in Febuary with some friends, we were in Edinburgh for a birthday. I can't fault this guesthouse, the rooms were cosy and clean, and it's a beautiful old house full of charm and antique furniture. The owner couldn't have made us more welcome - there was a power cut in the street as we arrived and she went out of her way to deal with the situation. (The power was quickly restored). The breakfast in the morning was delicious and more than we expected at the price we paid.
It's in a good position, especially if you want to walk up Arthurs Seat. I'd definately stay there again.
