The hotel is in a great location for Waverley Rail stn or the bus stn and convenient for the Playhouse. Situated on a corner, it has a 6 digit code to enter, but hard luck if Reception is not open when you arrive. My room was on the 2nd floor and was very cold and damp. The radiators were on, but not producing much heat. I requested another blanket for the bed and it took 4 hours to arrive. The TV did not function and the set-up menu was in Italian. The bedside light needed a new bulb, the strip light in the bathroom did not work and the tea-spoons by the coffee tray were smeared with what seemed like dry yoghurt. There were also bits on the bathroom floor left by other guests. Thankfully, I bought warm bedsocks and a hot water bottle at John Lewis before retiring to my room or I would have been too cold and damp to sleep. Breakfast was a generous buffet. I could only leave my bags until 1100 the next day when Reception closed again.NO toiletries were provided in the bathroom, but there was a small hair dryer. Given that several sites offered this as a more expensive hotel, I was deeply disappointed and will complain formally.
