We were walking around the Devil's Beef Tub in high winds and had seen an advert for the 3 roast carvery at 9.95 per person - it was 3:30 so early for dinner but we were ravenous. The carvery had finished at 3 but the waitress suggested something off the bar menu - standard fare, but everything arrived quickly with Moffat mustard accompaniment. No real ales but Belhaven Best was there. They didn't seem to bother that we were very windswept and dishevelled and asked about our walk.

Food was good, reasonably priced, service was friendly and quick and the restaurant comfortable. The exterior of the building is great, very impressive building.

terrific hotel to stop overnight if you're on a long journey, we were allocated room 18 which isn't part of the hotel, but in an annexe next to the hotel (could park my car right outside) and walked into a room with the "wow" factor!! huge room, chaise longue, full length mirrors, and a fantastic 4 poster, and there was me expecting just the standard room!! brilliant, Evening meal, again top quality, lovely bar, superb relaxed service, nothing to much bother, just what you want when your travelling, and want to rest.
stay in this place and you won't be dissapointed!

I have had the pleasure of staying at Moffat House on a few occasions and can only say it is a real pleasure. The staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough for you. I have dined there too and I have to say the food is award winning in presentation and taste. I usually stay in the single room which is ideal for the business person travelling, TV WiFi good breakfast what more do you want in an idilic location, beautiful building and town.
A real Gem in the heart of Scotland.

This was our first time staying at Moffat House Hotel but the event was a very important one - our wedding reception. Even though we were a small party of 14 the care and attention given to us before and during the event was exceptional. |All the rooms were very comfortable and warm even though it was November. The food was first class and the staff were kind, patient and calm.
We would definitely stay here again and would strongly recommend the hotel for any event.
