We were married here in 2000 and have returned many times.The hotel owner/manager was a real gentleman always remembered us and at dinner often gave us a free bottle of champagne.In the days of premier inn dominance this was always a more personable place to stay.I wish the owner all the best in his future really one of life's good guys.

Although this hotel does have good sized rooms and beds, the decor facilities and services are not up to scratch. The bedding, furniture and carpets are tired and threadbare. The swimming pool which we were looking forward to using is no longer open and the staff are although friendly poorly trained. We complained at the end of our stay and were informed that the hotel was under administration.

Read the reviews - probably great for fat weddings but if you are planning to use this hotel as a motorway break - bring your own food. The place was deserted - we were upgraded to bridal suit - no complaints about the room and staff tried hard but the food was awful. Big empty room - no atmosphere - felt like we were eating in a warehouse. Happily Cameron House on Loch Lomond restored our faith in Scottish hospitality.

thanks to the garden house hotel we had the wedding from hell. a week before we were due to stay we were told that the leisure club and pool were shut down. so not giving us time to find any where else. the room we stayed in was dirty, their was ciggeret burnes on the basen in the bath room and the curtain pool was hanging off at the window also no remote control for the television. the food was terrible it was so bad we smuggled a pizza in the night before our wedding. eg i asked for the cheese board it was the smallest three peaces of cheese i had ever seen served with sweet meal biscuets. we didnt get married at the hotel but on return of our wedding night, the hotel caught on fire and we spent three hours in the car park eventuly we arranged our own accomadation at a near by travel type lodge. when we whent back the next day, the manager Jonathon refunded our money, but their was no appology and he was very un sympathetic so we cut our honey moon short. im looking at other channels to go through now as i feel we are owed some sort of compensation or the very least a written appology. im still getting over the upset but i will take things further. please if you are planning your wedding their go and stay for a night their first.
