We booked three rooms for two nights (July 14th/15th) in January and even paid a deposit of £100.
On our arrival at 5pm having done a 350 mile journey we were told we were not booked in and there were no rooms available for that night.
Having shown her the e-mail confirmation we had received from her she said we would have to wait whilst she went and checked through her files which she did. We waited in the hallway for about 20/30 mins waiting not even being offered a seat or a cup of tea whilst we waited.
After 20/30 mins the owner came back and said we could just have our deposit back or she would try and find an alternative place for us to stay. (We weren’t too optimistic as we hadn’t seen another hotel or B ’n’ B for several miles).
She did find somewhere else for us to stay that night and said we could go back to her the following night, as she had rooms available. We declined this offer considering the manner in the way we were treated and found our self alternative accommodation.
This was our first visit Scotland and we thought we would be greeted in a warm friendly Scottish manner which was described on their web site, but we didn’t receive one.
On our arrival we were quite surprised as it resembled nothing like the web site described.
If you are looking for a warm friendly welcome we wouldn’t recommend Cowan’s Farm.
