I need to share this this feedback with anyone embarking on a trip to the Abbotsford as a matter of extreme urgency, 22 of us spent a weekend in this location and I can guarantee that none of us enjoyed the accomodation what so ever, Its Gala's version of Faulty Towers ! Rooms were small, not cleaned during our 2 night stay, Towels were not changed, no heating in the majority of the rooms, yes a refurb is underway, but I would not say that its a major project, the whole operation seems to be a "one man show", Colin who seemd to be the head barman and cook ( I use the term cook loosely, as one look at the breakfast sent a few of us heading for alternative fayre Ala - Tesco or Quins (highly recomended for food, btw we were given tea and coffee cups with no handles) for the duration gave us the impression that we will not recognise the Hotel when we come back next time, We won't be back again !! Be warned !. Entertainment in the Bar was a family run thing too, Colin and his Son provided all the domestic laughs ..................

although the hotel is going through a restoration the staff were very friendly, the rooms were comfortable and warm, unfortunatly cannot comment on the breakfast as was not up in time, but the kitchen staff are friendly and have now very strict rules to follow, so cannot see a problem there, i will definatly be back !! i would recomend to anyone, the new management as of end of last year are extreamly helpfull and kind even though they are having to deal with the bad review from the last managment and seem to be getting everything sorted, i am looking forward to staying and writing another review after the restortation is finished !!!

Stayed for 2 nights with 7 friends on a golfing break. Rooms good and staff exceptional. Will be returning.

The staff are were helpful and polite throughout our stay,great entertainment and the rooms were spotless.Will go back and stay again and recommend to friends and family.
