My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in July 2011, for one night as a birthday treat for myself. We had an amazing time. The room was beautiful, the shower room was also lovely.The owners of the hotel were very friendly, and talk away to you as if they have known you for years. They work hard to create a very homely welcoming vibe and I love the fact that their dogs are allowed to run around! I have also stayed at the hotel once before, 3 or 4 years ago with a friend. It was because I loved the hotel so much the first time that I decided to go back when visiting Oban again last summer, and indeed the reason why any time I visit in the future I will en-devour to stay at the Kimberley.

We stayed last week for 4 days at Kimberley House.
This was our 3rd visit and will be returning again.
Brian and Valerie remembered us and once again made us very welcome.
The views from our room were fantastic.
Breakfast was a feast,beautifully presented and cooked to order.
Valerie's homemade Colltie dumpling was delicious and she even offered me the recipe !

In our view the best hotel in Oban. We felt welcome and were also provided with good advice about the town and restaurants. Thank you all at the Kimberley

We stayed here about two years ago and vowed to come back again. There are very few places that we would stay in again and this is definitely one of them.

The rooms are lovely and Valerie the owner gave us the choice of Room 8 or Room 9. We opted for Room 9 but only because it was a bit bigger. The bed was a big sleigh bed, the kind of size that you are not aware of anyone else being in it with you. Furniture is in keeping with the style of the property, which is listed, and there is plenty of space to store your clothes. There is a tiny flat screen TV on a bracket in the corner. At first we thought it wasn't working properly as there was no picture, but after taking a few moments to 'heat up' it worked fine.

The view from the large bay window in our room was stunning and we were blessed with good weather. It was nice to sit with a drink on the chaise and soak it all up, as it is a view we would never tire of, before we got ready to go out for the evening.

There was a towelling robe in the room, alas too small for my chubby frame but a nice touch. I would have liked bigger thicker towels and the the two rooms we have stayed in have tiny bathrooms. It is a bit hard to turn around without banging in to something, but I don't come away to spend all my time in the loo so am not that fussed by that. Good quality Scottish Soap products are provided in large bottles (shampoo, shower gel, body lotion & handwash), which is always far preferable to sachets.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory room to the front of the house. Again the views are stunning. Help yourself to juice, fruit, cereal and other continental breakfast items. The cooked breakfast is fantastic, good sized portions with plenty of variety and nothing is too much trouble. Valerie even got a piece of dumpling fried up for me!

Valerie & Brian are lovely hosts and obviously work very hard at their business. I wish them all the very best. We could come and stay here every week!
