“If you've got money”

A fascinating history to the castle & town. If you don't want the peasant in your front garden, just build them new accommodation & landscape your lawn. What you can do if you've got money - nothing & no-one need stand in your way. There's some lovely things to see. Don't forget to do some of the walks afterwards, especially the one to the tower on the hill from which you get some spectacular views down Loch Fyne on a good day.

“The Highlight of my trip!”

The Castle tour was amazing! One look into the Armoury Hall and you feel very safe - very dramatic room! It is just a fantastic tour. What a wonderful surprise when I checked my items at the gift shop and had the wonderful experience of being waited upon and greeted by the Duke of Argyll himself!!! He signed my guidbook as well as my small bottle of scotch! The gardens were beautiful, and it was just the perfect sunny day! Plan on coming back to Scotland in two years and making that trip again. The tea and fruit scones were probably the best on our whole holiday. This was just one small trip on our two week stay in Scotland.

“WONDERFUL STAFF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

I visited the castle with my very elderly parents. Inveraray is a splendid place that has been much improved upon by the present Duke and his family. The rooms are nicely set out with a sufficiency of information without being overloaded.
However, more importantly to me these days, was the exceptional staff. Everyone was friendly and courteous and couldn't do enough to make our visit a good one. There was help to provide a wheelchair for my mother, an invitation to bring the car to the castle front door for my parents convenience, assistance with directions and help moving mum in the chair down the ramp. Full marks. Keep up the good work. Argyll needs you!!
