We chose this B and B because the hotels in the area were fully booked or too far to travel to- with slight misgivings but they were soon alllayed when we saw the house - perched on top of the hill overlooking as the name implies - the harbour.

You have to park at the back of the property in their own car park and make your way to the front door where you are greeted by the owners - who throughut the stay did all they could to make you feel welcome,

The decor has a french country feel to it and the room we stayed in was beautifully presented with crisp white towels and comfortable chairs to sit and watch the sunset from. The views from the two windows were lovely- the sun glistening on the sea.

Portsoy itself is a solid little town built round the harbour and doesnt have that many eating places but we feasted royally on fish and chips from the award winning chippie as we sat by the harbour watching life go by.

The bathroom had both bath and shower and planty of hot water.The little finsihing touches were nice - the corkscrew and two glasses the chocoalte mints and the lounge down stairs was laid out in a welcoming manner with books and up to date magazines .

After a good nights sleep we feasted well on the breakfast - help yourself mueslis cornflakes , fresh fruit and dried -an assortment of rolls and croissants. A full Scottish breakfast is on offer as well as kippers or porridge and it was well presented and freshly cooked.

We would fully recommend this new venture to any one and hope to revisit one day
