Travelodge aren't usually places I would choose to stay and this hotel does explain why.
The TV's weren't working in the rooms on our first night. We were told they would be working soon, and everyone was having a problem. The next day, after coming back from a day out shopping, the TV's were still not working. We were then told no one had a problem and it was just us. Thankfully, we were allowed to change rooms, and the nice lady on reception offered us two free breakfast boxes - a nice touch.
Hot water needed to be asked for on both nights! It seems the room where we were situated on the ground floor needed the hot water turning on in another room for us to have any. It meant having to tell reception both days that we would like a shower/bath and could they switch the hot water on please!
There is also no lighting in the car park area, and with quite big potholes here and there, it is quite dangerous.
Overall, we did sleep well, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. However, there were
quite a few faults which really shouldn't occur in a well known chain such as Travelodge.
Aside from the rooms, the hotel is situated about a 20 minute drive from the centre of Aberdeen. Just watch out for one of the roundabouts in between. We were stuck in traffic jams there quite a number of times!!
I will never understand why Travelodge prices are so high for a really basic standard of accommodation.
