Stayed in this hotel mid-September for one night. These Premier Travel Inns are usually good value for money but if they get it wrong, seem to do so big time like here.
Arrived quite late, got to room and noticed single "Yale" type lock on door. This could not be "snibbed" or deadlocked and there was also no additional security in the form of a chain which is unusual for modern hotels anywhere.
Tried the television but no response from the remote control. Found four different types of AA cells in the remote, one of which was a several months out of date.
Went to reception who could not find any spare batteries or remotes. Only when I mentioned Premier Travel Inn's "satisfaction guarantee" that gives you a 100% refund if you are not completely satisfied did some batteries get found.
Got up in the morning for breakfast in the adjacent "Hen Blackie" pub. Settled down for cereal and found that the milk was sour. Disgraceful - put me right off having any more breakfast. Went back to reception and was refunded the cost of that.
I thought I would double check that the taxi I had requested on check in had been ordered. Nope, it hadn't!
When three things like this happen, it seems to me a pretty good indication of lax standards - my advice - avoid this one.
