Stayed here 1/2 December 2011. Very Pleasant staff, good and not too expensive meal. Room was warm, bathroom shower in need of a good clean - mould round the edge and after I asked for someone to clean both the shower head and the bath edge, I got the shower head changed the bath edge was in need of a good clean (I hate to see mould). The breakfast room was extremely cold and the second morning I made sure I had a jacket-I think they are trying to save money by turning off the heating in here and the bar. I did complain but I think I was ignored, at the reception when I made the point re the heating, I was aked if the room was warm!!!!. Management - you need to listen to your guests otherwise they give a report this this and the ones before me. I have been in better B&B's where the accomodation is of an excellent standard (Dionard GH - Lynver GH (Inverness) - Aberlaw GH (Dundee) for the price you are charging I would be ashamed to call this an Inn. Need to bring the overall standard up - but don't change the staff and that includes the woman in the breakfast area who stands in an Igloo making and serving the food to customers, she is a treat.
Finally the room I was in had a Heat Detector - this is for a kitchen or a laundry not a guest room - I would like to know if there is smoke in the building and not wait till the place is on fire beofre I make an exit. The Stair door had a wedge in place which I removed every night - staff don't they see this as a legitimate device - ADVICE remove any and all to protect the residents and ensure smoke and heat seals are fitted to all doors on the esape route with vision panels in corridor/stair doors. HAS it got a fire risk assessment.....you ask!!
