This is an old hotel, I stayed here 3 years ago and it was dated then. Recently I stayed there for what was supposed to be 1 week but I checked out on the second night. It has gone further down hill than you would belive.
This hotel will not meet even your most basic of expectations.
On a positive note:
Staff - are actually very nice, personal and lovely even when they could tell I was not entirely happy with the hotel.
Food - Is suprisingly really good, and good value too -
The bad stuff:
I checked in at 23:20 - When I got there, all the lights were off. Having navigated through dark corridors to the reception i stood there for 20 minutes trying to call the "assistance" number, but no one came.. Only after I made a lot of noise did the reception staff appear from the darkness giving us both a huge fright.
The reception desk is not staffed before 09:00 and after 23:00..
The hotel advertises wireless, but you can't get it in ANY of the rooms.. You can sit in an abandoned function room if you really need to use the internet.. So I am told.
Rooms are awful, barely clean - tiny and almost nothing works.. Ancient TVs with bad signals, a rubbish shower and not even a bottle of water in the room.
Even navigating the corridors with their dated, ripped and celeotaped carpets is like navigating an old abandoned building.
Smoking area is via the fire escape? so I was told...
Checking out was a problem, as no one was at reception before 09:00 - so I had to return that after noon to pay for my accomidation.
Avoid this hotel like the plague, for £60.00 per night minimum it is really not worth it. Absolute disgrace.
