Our stay in Ireland would have not been complete with out visiting N. Ireland. We were to stay one week and tour the area. We found Derry Self Catering Apartments through the internet. Derry is a bit complicated in driving around so we came into Derry we got a bit lost and called Melissa and they came to find us and direct back to the apartment. I would call this apartment more like a duplex that we know of in the "states". Both Gerry and Melissa gave us the orientation to the apartment and their lovely city. Also included in the price of the stay is a lovely breakfast across the street at a deli/bakery. This was a real treat each morning. The apartment was complete with the basic needs. Two things that I would have like to see added was a regular coffee pot and a hair blower. There are pros and cons about the location of the house. It is on a hill. For walkers, the town is not more then a mile or two and would normally be a lovely walk, but if hills are a problem then you need a car as it is almost all down, and then what goes down has to come back up. We were fortuneate to have a car, if you do also, there is no problem other then parking down town. Most of our travels were outside the area so no problem and when we parked downtown, we park a few blocks away and walked where ever we wished. So, in a nutshell, we really liked staying at this place and would reccomend others to also stay here. We have very fond memories of Derry and learned so much history. We have a very warm spot in our heart now for all of Ireland.
