“Unplanned early morning wake up call!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed at the Ramada hotel as I was seeing my boyfriend who lives in the area (we treated ourselves to a night in the hotel. The room was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. Because we were tired and just wanted to chill out we chose to have room service that evening and had the most amazing indian food - quite unexpected for Room Service cuisine! We were on the ground floor but didn't experience too much noise from other guests.

Our only gripe was being woken up with a start at 0650 with wake up call that was not intended for us! The next morning I cheekily asked if I could check out at 1.30pm and this was no problem and no additional charge was made.

One random comment would be that there seems to be an awful lot of jewellry sale channels on the tv - not sure if that is peculiar to Northern Ireland! Maybe they need to add a bit more variety to what is on the TV. All in all a nice hotel with friendly staff - I would recommend it and would be happy to stay there again.

Dear SarahVJ,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments following your recent stay with us @ the Ramada Plaza, Belfast

We appreciate all comments, positive & negative which aid us with our ongoing training.

I have forwarded your kind comments regarding the quality of your Room Service to our Executive Head Chef.

Our internal IT Department investigated your unscheduled early morning call, which has since been rectified, this was due to a telephone interface computer loosing it connection with the main hotel server.

Our televisions channels work or the "FreeView" network & at certain times of the day seems to be "overloaded" with sales channels, our Directors are currently looking at alternative options.

We hope to see you in Belfast in the near future.

Regards,

All @ the Ramada Plaza, Belfast.

“Wedding party”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had booked the Ramada for a 4 night stay for the wedding of our daughter. As we travelled from london the wedding dresses had to b packed in cases, and when we arrived the were very creased. We asked the receptionist if they had a dry cleaning service. he said yes and he would ring them 1st thing in the morning. After the dress was taken, because he saw that the bride to b was very upset,he tried his best to get the dress back the same day. even tho this was not possible it came back the next day and was fine. throuhout r stay all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. the bedrooms were lovely and spacious, the food was excellent and i would recommend this hotel as the best we have ever stayed in. I would like to thank reception team, waiting team, bar staff and especially Roshin, the wedding planner and all her staff for making the wedding run so smoothly.

Room Tip: all the rooms are lovelyand would recommend any

“Not too quiet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Purchased a 1 night stay 28th Jan 2012 (£55 with evening meal and breakfast) as a quiet break with my wife as we have had very few full nights sleep due to 2 1/2 yr old twins. Unfortunately we did not get the quiet break due to a wedding reception and associated noise into the night. The 3 course evening meal was fine, but we were disappointed with the limited menu (especially when the A4 single page was presented to us in full view of other diners, letting them know we were the cheap-skates :-(...). My wife had to crawl on her hands and knees under a table to plug in the hairdryer due to the plug being fed thru the drawer in the table. I had man-handle the fridge out of its housing in order to switch it on, luckily I had booked a massage to sort my injured back out. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi closed at 5.30 - so again very restrictive, but since the free swim came at a price £7 (to purchase a swimming cap), it didn't matter - we didn't use the pool. The breakfast was ok, but the catering hadn't been judged correctly...we (like many others) had to eat our breakfast in installments because bacon, mushrooms, eggs etc were never available collectively.

Dear Mr Johnston,

Thank you for posting your review following your recent stay with us over the weekend.

Can I apologise for the noise caused to you & your wife during your visit, we endeavour to allocate all our wedding guests to a certain area within the hotel. We had a number of non-wedding guests staying for a number of nights who seemed to have let their hair down on the last night who fairly close to your room.

I have forwarded your concerns regarding the menu presentation & breakfast to our Restaurant Manager & Executive Head Chef respectively.

Our guests have complimentary use of LA-Fitness, pool & gym, the hours of access is limited due to their opening hours and as it is a private members pool it is they that dictate that a swimming cap is required.

I hope you will Ramada Plaza, Belfast once again & please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Regards,

“An extremely pleasant experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

1 night stay on this occasion for concert.
On arrival "David" reception went out of his way to provide a warm welcome, sound local knowledge & excellent recommendation for "teen" shopping in Belfast with secure parking.
The restaurant manager was another individual who took his role seriously and enhanced a delightful dining experience.
Overall each and every member of staff went the extra mile to make the stay memorable, location, actual venue and surroundings superb.
Will certainly be back - being part of the "Wyndham Reward" scheme just an added bonus.

“would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

hotel is in a quiet location a short drive from belfast city centre
modern and welcoming reception. reception staff are very helpful.
hotel seems to be very popular with business travellers.

room was ideal for a family with 2 large beds. i've read other reviews about this hotel in which they complained about the family room, but the room was exactly as i had been expecting and ideal for a family of four. interconnecting rooms also available.
the room was clean and tidy. bathroom was modern.

the restaurant was modern and comfortable. the 3 course meal (included in the family deal) was very tasty and even the kids were provided with 3 courses. staff in restaurant were very attentive and helpful. the breakfast was also good.

only issue was that we tried to go swimming at 5pm, but were refused as kids are not allowed in the pool after 5pm. remember to bring swim caps as not allowed in pool without them.

overall i would definitely recommend this hotel.
