visited sole seafood last night food excellent, excellent service and atmosphere.will definitly make return visits and will be recommending sole seafood to my family and friends. great variety on the menu and very reasonably priced

Booked with a voucher deal, thankfully....very, very small portions, over £15 for 3 scallops and had to pay for the sides...not impressed, wont be back.

I found this little jewel on the Lisburn Rd around October time last year, and raved so much about it to my cousin that she made a special trip from Strabane just to try it. Well let me tell you it did'nt disappoint!
From the moment we walked through the door our culinary journey began. The first thing that hit us was that it was very busy, even so the staff met us with a warm friendly smile and calmly showed us to our table. The atmosphere was both buuzzing and relaxing at the same time you got the feeling you were in very safe hands. We were shown the menu but to tell you the truth I did'nt even look at it The selection of specials on the board blew me away!
I felt sorry for the waitress because she had to come back twice to take my order we just couldnt decide. We opted for fish cakes and chowder for starters and then scallops with smoked salmon and Gurnard with celeriac mash for mains.
Now I am a fish cake fan and I never stray away if I see it on a menu, it was superb the out side was crispy the potato was creamy with beautiful chunks of smokey fish running through it, and after you swallowed there was a wonderful surprise of heat from chilli slowly built up in the back of your throat. My guest also complemented the chowder saying that it was really stacked with fish and prawns. As for the mains, amazing the scallops were huge and my cousin said they were perfectly cooked. I got gurnard with the celariac mash, the fish was perfectly cooked moist flakey and the celeriac mash was wonderfully smooth and nutty in flavour.
To sum up the whole night the restaurant was buzzing, the service was relaxed attentive but not intrusive, and the food was out of this world. The restaurant sits back off the road and could easily be missed but search for it. The decor is simple ungimicky ( if there is such a word?) but suits the place perfectly as its all about the food! THIS PLACE HAS SOLE!
