“Not sure how this is 4 Star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Stayed here on a Saturday night and came away wondering how this is 4 star.
Its not cheap at £70 room only , our room was small with the tiniest double bed I have ever seen.
The view was over the back car park and the window was partly obscured by something like a ventilation unit.
The worst point however was that the window was locked shut - meaning we couldn't get any fresh air in a very stuffy room, we both need fresh air and found this annoying.
Reported it at reception but we were told it was for safety reasons!!!
Breakfast was chaotic as the room was taken over by a GAA club who seemed to get all the attention! So in summary our room was more like Travel lodge than 4 star - disappointing for the price

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Wellington Park Hotel. The mimum bed size we offer is 4'6" . Other rooms are either twin (2 single beds) or a King Double (6'). There are no rooms with small doubles. We are sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your stay but I can assure you that staff manage groups efficiently throughout service to ensure that all guests have a comfortable experience.

Kind regards,
Helen

“Really enjoyed my stay!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Just a had a lovely relaxing week-end at the Wellington Park Hotel . My thanks to the very kind and well informed staff and their recommendations in Belfast. Our room was v comfortable and clean. We had a most enjoyable evening on the Sat at the hotel and the "craic" was mighty.
I will return to this hotel again when I have time to have another week-end break in Belfast. Great value for money and within walking distance of a lot of Belfast attractions !!!

“one to avoid if at all possible!”

Had the extreme misfortune to stay here October 2011. What an upsetting experience. Problems included no menu change for the entire stay - really need to look at expanding further than veg broth/cream of veg!!, being locked out of my room several times, SO much noise from wedding parties, slow service in lounge, no hot water in bedroom - which soon changed to scalding water and no cold (burnt my small child). They moved me to a suite.. nice gesture.. shame the telephone didnt work and the chair was broken! Electric shock that burnt my finger and light bulb exploded showering us with glass. The response from the manager on duty was shocking. Also managed to 'pink' my daughters school uniform with their laundry service, ruined a skirt of mine.

All this from what is alleged to be a 4 * hotel.

I might add that if you enjoy seeing the police late at night then come to this hotel - seems to be frequented now by a certain, more 'lively' type of customer than myself.

Disappointment and stress guaranteed. Such a let down!

Only redeeming feature is the majority of waiting staff who were friendly, courteous and sympathetic regarding the issues. Shame same cant be said by their managers, who appeared to feign surprise and then take no action whatsoever.

Room Tip: Ask for one with hot water in the bathroom and nowhere near the wedding guests (who frequently roar...

Thank you for taking the time to review your long stay at the Wellington Park Hotel in October last. The Hotel staff went out of their way on several occasions to ensure that you and your daughter were enjoying your stay. We are confused by your headline and comments when you stayed for almost 5 weeks and indeed, after such a long time. We have sent you a private email to have this clarified.

Many thanks,
Helen

“Terrible lighting for a business hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

If you are thinking of staying here and needs to get some work done, you better bring a lamp with you. The room is so poorly lit, you will ruin your eyesight! Apart from that, the service is good and the food in the hotel restaurant is acceptable. Free WIFI is always a plus.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Wellington Park Hotel. We appreciate your comments and take customer feedback very seriously. In a drive to be environmentally friendly, all bulbs throughout the Hotel are energy efficient and they can be dull. We will investiate other ways of improving bedside lighting and thank you very much for your feedback.
