After traveling all over Ireland and Scotland, I will remember Tara Lodge as the best place to stay. The value was great. The rooms were large, the staff super friendly and the breakfasts were fantastic. We were within 10 minutes walking distance of every place we wanted to visit. The location was very quiet at night - got the best sleep there.
Shower pressure was spot on as well.
We had a rental car and the parking costs were included with our hotel rate - the parking lot was very secure.
I would recommend this place to everyone. And don't forget to try the porridge!

We found the location convenient ~ it was an easy walk to the city centre and university. There were some excellent restaurants in the vicinity. The room was well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortable. One of Tara Lodge's main assets was the friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Only minus ~ some rowdy people in street on way home from clubs in the early hours.

Stayed at the Tara Lodge for 3 nights. The place is really clean and really close to the University, which was ideal for myself and my colleagues. The customer service is brilliant. The staff cannot do enough for you. They are always polite and attentive. The service at breakfast was second to none. Thanks Ricky and Laura! I am so pleased I tried the home-made porridge Irish warmer. It was gorgeous. The best porridge I have ever had and others in the party agreed with me! The irish breakfast was great too!! Ricky provided me with a never ending cup of coffee all through breakfast and quickly remembered all the de-caf/caffeinated requirements of myself and my colleagues. A nice touch!

We spent one night in this hotel which is located approx. 10 minutes walking from the city centre (i.e. City Hall). The room was spacious and clean. The girl at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. For a double room we paid 70 GBP incl. breakfast by booking in advance through Internet (about 1 month earlier). Nothing to complain about breakfast.
