“Modern hotel and considerate staffs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Was very pleased with my stay at Holiday Inn Express. The room was modern, clean and well maintained. There's a tea making facility, and the HD flat screen TV made me not to get out of the room at all. It's perfect for family who just want to spend a leisure day in the city. It's about 20minute walk to the City Centre, and very close to Botanical Garden and the university. It's also around the corner of Donegall Pass where you can find a lot of choices of asian restaurants. And the best part was you can avail of the late check out without extra fee, which is rare nowadays. Overall, very pleased of this hotel and would highly recommend this if you're visiting Belfast.

“Does the trick”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This hotel is exactly what it aims to be. Locationally it is not the best in the city but the price you'd have to pay for that is the reason you'd stay here instead.
Despite not being right in the city centre, it is only a ten/fifteen minute walk into the centre. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance from the hotel so the location really isn't a problem.
The staff were friendly and the main thing.....the room, was immaculate. I was more than happy with the room I stayed in. It has all the amenities that you need, tea/coffee, tv, extra pillows. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was good.

My only disppointments would be that there was no temperature control in the room.....and it was cold. The breakfast on offer did look a little sad......the beans were wrinkly and had developed a whole new skin and the 'what I assume once was' scrambled egg....looked like some kind of pulsating sponge animal....
To counter balance my view of the breakfast though. It seems that I had formed by opinion over a couple of later morning visits as on the last day I had visited before 8am and everything looked pretty standard.

One other observation would be the bed. The bed was comfortable to sleep in but....when I first sat on it I almost bounced right back off! It was incredibly springy....it felt like a water bed by the amount that it moved. Don't move too much and you'll be fine :)

Overall, I was pretty happy with this place. I wouldn't suggest it for a luxury romantic experience but if you are looking for a bed for the night in somewhere that doesn't cost the earth this is the place. Definitely a winner for the business traveller.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on your recent stay with us. I am delighted to hear you were happy with the staff & the amenties in your room. The housekeeping team work hard to keep the hotel clean & in good condtion.
I am sorry to hear you were not entirely happy with your breakfast experience on some of the mornings during your stay. I will speak to the kitchen & restaurant staff to ensure this is not repeated.
I hope to see you again in the future.

Kind Regards

“Do not overlook this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We stayed here as a family with a 12 year old. The location was within walking distance of the city centre and all the attractions and had the local train station was just down the road. The main street into the city is full of places to eat - takeaways and restaurants - and there are numerous shops/mini markets where you can buy snacks and drinks. The hotel is in the middle of a heavily populated student area which means some of the residences look a bit run down but at no point did I feel at risk.

Buffet breakfast in the hotel is pretty average and was always kept well stocked. You could eat as much as you wanted and stay there as long as you wanted!!

Take advantage of the open top bus tours which run from the city centre and, if you have time, take a tour up the coast to the Giants Causeway and Carrick a Rede. We went with Allens Belfast Bus Tours which was just down the road from the hotel. Very informative guide and just the right length of time at each stop-off.

“perfect for a night on the town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

It's position is perfect to enjoy the nightlife of Belfast. Ten minutes from the centre and surrounded by restaurants, Rooms very good, modern and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast included in the price, which was equal to a taxi ride in and of of town. Secure parking, so was able to drive in, have a great night, sleep in and drive home
