“Belfast is fabulous”

Hilton is centrally located and is a nice hotel by American standards. By European standards it is a great hotel. Nothing negative to report, it just doesn't stand out, but the location is perfect. Close to city center and across the street from the St George's Market. We stayed on the Executive Floor which gets you a free continental breakfast (on weekend you get a full breakfast), free liquor from 6 pm until 10 pm and appetizers. Quite frankly, the appetizers were awful- and very unhealthy, but we enjoyed the socializing with other travelers in the Lounge and met some interesting people.

Feedback on Hilton Hotel Belfast Ireland

I paid £100 GBP per night for B&B 5* hotel accomodation at Hilton Hotel Belfast
1. I had to pay an additonal GBP£35 pp for breakfast without prior knowledge even though the trip was advertised as B&B
2. After several room changes we realised all rooms had many broken fixtures and fittings and present a hazard to health and safety (e.g. tiles, skirting boards, furniture, loose carpeting, faulty electrical sockets that sparked when we unplugged appliances)
3. None of the advertised 5* facilities exist. Its false advertising but Hilton Group believe its acceptable as the facilities are available elsewhere in the city outside the hotel i.e. no pool , no spa, rooms don't even have toiletries or hair dryers
4. My room was not made up for the 3 days of my stay, my papers were not delivered and my breakfast did not arrive for the duration of my stay. The hotel issued a statement stating
"-guests should 'allow' that 'someone' other than the room occupants would place a 'do not disturb sign' on the room door both nights of a two night stay and therefore guests should allow that rooms would not be made up for the entire duration of accommodation stay.
- guests should also 'allow' that on all days of a 3 day accommodation 'someone' other than the room occupants would remove newspapers from outside the room. "
5. At GBP£100 per night we were placed in a suite room with a door adjoining a bachelorette party with numerous guests partying through the night.
6. Parking is GBP £18 per day but you will be charged an additonal £5 GBP per hour after 12 noon on day of check out
7. The mini bar is automated but our bill still had many over charges
8. There is no hotel or location/visitor information in the rooms or hotel common areas

Recommend the Ramada and Radisson hotels as this hotel is a very negative and frustrating experience.

“Great room, great views.”

My husband and I spent 2 nights here in a Junior Suite.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were, without exception, friendly and professional.

The room was great with floor to ceiling windows - fab views over the river (see photos). The bed was large and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was varied and good quality. We didn't eat in the restaurant otherwise, but had something from Room Service, which was very good.

The Executive lounge was very good - lots of comfy seating and friendly and helpful staff

There was a rowdy group in a room nearby - one phone call to reception an it was dealt with immediately.

The location was good - a short walk to the heart of the centre.

If we were to visit Belfast again, we'd stay here without question.

“waited 15 minutes to get a drink!!!!”

the hotel is fine as impersonal hotels go.unfortunately it costs £18 a night to park a car which is a cheap rate!!!!there seemed no alternatives!!!also it took 15 minutes at 10pm to get 2 drinks at the bar.there were 3 bar staff on who seemed to be talking to each other and then served people who had been in the bar for the evening first not those who went to the bar first..there were 3 of us to be served and it took this long.i wwouldnt like to think id paid the full rate for the room.

“smoking room in non smoking hotel, another central reservation mess up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2009

I telephoned the Hilton Belfast to make a reservation and was transferrred to Hilton central reservation. I spoke to an American lady who took details of my requirements; a double, smoking room, for 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday.
On arrival at hotel at 8.15pm I went to check-in. The receptionist was very polite and efficient until I asked if was smoking room. No, madam, we dont have smoking rooms. I was infuriated. I know smoking or indeed non-smoking rooms cannot be guaranteed but the central reservation had made a booking for me for a smoking room in a totally non- smoking hotel!
I was stuck in Belfast at 8.15 on a Saturday night looking for a hotel room. The manager and staff at Hilton were very apologetic and helpful and called several hotels to find me a room. I have stayed in Hilton Belfast previously, prior to the non-smoking rule, so the review is based on this time, approx 2 years ago.
Unfortunately the only room available was in Europa( see review) but beggars cant be choosers.
This is 2nd time out of 2 that Hilton central reservations has made a mistake with my booking. In June I made reservation for Conrad Hilton in Brussels but upon arrival the receptionist told me was no reservation. After checking it appeared the Central booking department had booked me into the Hilton Brussels, a hotel in a different league to Conrad. The Conrad staff found me a room and the stay was very pleasant but....
PLEASE HILTON GROUP, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, this is not acceptable for a Hotel group such as yours. A room in the wrong hotel and a smoking room in a non smoking hotel. Guests deserve and expect better.
