“Avoid this hotel at all costs!”

I often come to Swansea for nights out, as Im a keen clubber and part time dj.

I booked a room for a night on 5/11/11.

When I arrived at hotel, found the owner John very rude, when he welcomed me to the hotel,he told me that the front door had a coded lock, so I ask him what the code was. He then went on to do a rhyme about the code for 10 minutes repeating the numbers again and again like I was an idiot.

Went to the room, it smelt gone off, mouldy, disgusting shower which didn't work properly, dirty windows,a tv that didn't work. Said to him I wanted to move rooms, he then went on to say, "Not My Problem". Decided to void Breakfast and saw the state of the Kitchen when asking about Taxis to Train Station in the morning. I think anyone that eats the breakfast in that hotel may end up with food poisoning. This Hotel needs to be shut down.

Room Tip: Don't Book a room! There's loads of other fantastic hotels/b&bs in Swansea!

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!”

The biggest mistake we made with this hotel was not walking out as soon as we saw the place. It stank of cigarettes and week old fat. We were checked in by John the owner and immediately noticed that the breakfast dishes were still on the tables (it was now 1pm). Michael (the owners son) then appeared with a cigarette in his mouth and announced he was the chef. This really did not inspire us with much confidence and we should have left then, however we did not and things went down hill from there on in. We went to our room (No 6) once we got in the room ( very difficult to open) we were faced with a very shabby and run down room. The wardrobe was a sheet across an alcove, the view if you can call it that was roof tops, the bed was so close to the bathroom door you had to move the bed before being able to get in. I decided not to unpack my case as it was not overly clean. (My sister her husband and daughter had a room in the attic but did not get any sleep as the room overlooks a very busy road) On returning to the hotel in the evening we thought we would have a drink in what they describe as a well stocked bar, but Michael was stood in the hallway and did not seem very welcoming so we went to a nearby pub which was just as well because when we looked at the bar in the morning it was not well stocked and what they did have seemed to have been there far too long as the vodka was not clear but yellow! Breakfast was absolutely disgusting and totally inedible. I first had to wipe the cereal bowls before using it as it was dirty. Michael then took our order (he was dressed in very dirty trousers with his zip undone, slippers and and a dirty chefs white coat) and what then appeared in front of us was a joke, the eggs were rock hard, the bacon look like pigs ears and it was all swimming in an inch of grease. I decided beans on toast would be a better option and asked for some bread, Michael brought this in but he did not use a plate he just carried it from the kitchen and put it next to the toaster. Mistake with the beans as well they were in self serve container along with tomatoes but they tasted like vinegar and inedible. Michael asked if everything was okay and we told him we were not happy with the food and why he did say he could grill it for us the next day if we preferred but we decided the better option was not to have any at all even though it was included in the price. When I went back to my room the next evening I discovered that they had taken my own towel so I went to tell Michael who said " We were not to know it was yours" I told him my towel was bright yellow and not white like the ones that they provided to which he said that they also have bright yellow, pink and blue towels. I again asked for him to give it back to me which he did However when I went to take the towel back to my room he made comments about me which was overheard by my sister who was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. I believe wholeheartedly that this hotel (and I use the word loosely) should be immediately shut down, environmental health should be contacted as well. PLEASE PLEASE TAKE HEED OF THESE COMMENTS AND DON'T BOOK TO STAY HERE!!!!!

Room Tip: Dont; Book needs shutting down!

“Avoid Avoid Avoid !!”

I had a reservation for 3 nights which had been arranged by work, I stayed at
total of 37 minutes before checking out. The accomodation was very
disappointing and not the ideal hotel for a solo female traveller.
I had an attic room which was very small with the paper peeling off, very dingy and run down. When I tried to check out after 1/2 hour I offered to pay one nights stay and nicely requested a refund for the two nights, The two night refund was given, however the father was very rude and called me a Freak!. I was just relieved to leave.

This B & B was to my experience clean and tidy, with the hosts curteous and friendly. Breakfasts were satisfactory and filling. Extremely great value for money for my limited budget. I had no problems whatsoever! Can recommend!
Thank You!

“Depressing room - inedible cooked breakfast - non stop traffic, no sleep”

What a big mistake to book this seaview hotel ( it is NOT a hotel but a gloomy run down guest house ) - never again. The first room (no 6) we were allocated had filthy windows/curtains overlooking roofs from next doors` properties - we could not comfortably sit on the bed because of the uncomfortable springs. We were re-allocated to room 3 , overlooking the bay - this was fine until we retired for the night and hardly slept because of the continuous noise of traffic throughout the night - no need for an alarm call for 7.30am breakfast - we were already awake and had been for most of the night!!!!
Breakfast was dire - my wife hardly touched it. Although one must vacate by 10am we were gone by 8.45am!! What a big mistake - never again.
