We booked in for 4 nights in a one bedroom apartment at Century Wharf because the price was good and we hadn't stayed in the bay before.
A number of things went wrong in the beginning, when we picked up the keys they didn't give us a hairdryer, the apartment wouldn't connect to Wi-Fi. But when we reported it the staff were really helpful and brought a hairdryer over straight away and when the wi fi didn't work in another flat they moved us to we were moved to the penthouse the next morning.
The other apartments were nice but the penthouse was spectacular. Amazing views, sky tv and a bathroom each and of course wi-fi to connect our various laptops/ipads/phones etc.
We didn't take a car but there were good connections into Cardiff. Century Wharf is a 10 minute walk to the bay area where there were loads of eating places. The number 8 bus which is a couple of minutes walk from the apartment goes into Cardiff , the number 6 goes from the bay, and the train takes 5 minutes between Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Queen Street. We also took the river boat a couple of times from the Bay into Cardiff which was a nice way to travel.
The area is being re generated so is a mix of very new and old. We were out late at night and felt very safe - the apartments are opposite a large police station. It was the same price as a cheap hotel there's a pool and a gym thrown in and we didn't have to get up early for breakfast. The nearest shop is a tesco metro in Cardiff Bay a 10 minute walk away so we got ourselves some juice and croissants and had a leisurely morning.
Despite the small hiccups at the start we would definitely stay there again, the flats were clean and well equipped with huge tv's and when we had a problem it was addressed immediately and followed up if it couldn't be sorted there and then.
