We stayed here while completing a north to south wales charity bike ride. Our bikes were locked up overnight, beautifully appointed rooms and a tremendous full welsh breakfast. Thoroughly recommend.

We were visitng the National Library of Wales and Yr Hafod was recommended to us and we were not disappointed and in turn would also recommend it.
John the owner was very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was substantial and well cooked with as much tea as you wanted.

During our stay we parked the car outside which was great.

I regularly visit Aberystwyth to see family and over the last three years have stayed at quite a few other establishments.This has been the best its very basic but clean and the welcome you get is second to none.The location is quiet (handy in a student town!) and in easy reach for the town centre,Has easy parking all around and the view from my single room was wonderful .The breakfast was excellent although I agree with previous reviewer timing could be more flexible. Value for Money was excellent ipaid only £31 a night.I will be visiting again soon!

I came to Aberystwyth for a wedding and chose Yr Hafod as it was 10 mins walk from the hotel where the wedding was being held, but cheaper and had better reviews. This ticked all the boxes - right on the seafront, with a lovely view from the big bay window, easy to park on the street right outside, room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Service was personal and friendly. The breakfast was good with generous portions to fill you up for the day. It is only available from 8 til 9, so a bit inflexible if you want a lie-in after a late arrival or wedding, or in case of needing an early start. Normally I would choose a budget hotel such as Premier Inn/Travelodge or similar but there is nothing like this in Aberystwyth, the choice is B&B or a couple of larger traditional but more expensive old fashioned hotels. Given the options, Yr Hafod seemed the best choice and I was not disappointed. Its unlikely I'd choose to come to Aberystwyth again as its not that great a town overall, but if I did need to, would willingly stay in Yr Hafod again.
