“Nice Staff, Decent Rooms, Slow Service at Bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We stayed here for one night for a Wedding. The rooms were quite nice however cobwebs still hung in the bathroom, bed comfortable and decor old but nice. The staff were excellent and very welcoming and helpful. The bar staff although good were very slow and seemed to charge different prices for the same round. Breakfast was ok but seemed a little limited.

“Rustic old English charm in every room.”

The Hotel may well go unnoticed to those needing a 2-minute transfer to Birmingham International Airport/NEC or to those wanting to stay on the verge of the nearby motorways. However, to those 'in the know' this hotel is well worth the few minutes drive to an idealic location. There is ample parking and some interesting features for Example to anyone looking to hire the venue it has its own church!

Each room has lots of original features sympathetically restored to include all modern conveniences. I have stayed in 48 & 49 which are both at the front of the main building and highly recommended.

The restaurant and bar can only be described as first class. A little neuvaux cuisine perhaps for some, but worth every penny for fine dining.

I have stated in many hotels with my work and this one certainly comes highly recommended.

“We spent 2 nights there for a family wedding and it was absolutely fantastic.”

We were totally impressed with historic Wroxall Abbey as a number 1 wedding destination. The staff were fantastic and the Hotel, Abbey and Marquee just blew you away. England at its best. We could not praise the staff enough for all they did to make the event unforgettable.

“Dreadful place..”

Run down and over priced. Furnishing in rooms are shabby and general feel is of a run down and tired has been, if it ever was.

Room Tip: Don't bother - ESP attic rooms that have no ventilation

“Magical stay - ignore negative reviews!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

If you're looking for a countryside escape, a chance for R&R and a bit of spa, then Wroxall's the place for you!

I booked an overnight stay with my other half as we were desperately in need of a battery recharge - one night away from our little girl, just the two of us. The building is absolutely stunning - even with grey skies it looked imposing.

The staff were falling over themselves to be of help - phoning the spa on our behalf, answering questions etc, and prompt service of afternoon tea when it was ordered. The spa is not up to the standard of somewhere like Ragdale Hall, but the facilities were good and everything was clean - very important! There's a full size swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a therapist on hand for wonderful ESPA treatments so I'm not complaining!

The restaurant provides two evening menus to cater for different budgets - very helpful and we didn't feel we were compromising on taste or quality by not choosing from the A La Carte menu. Portions were good and food was beautifully presented and delicious!

Breakfast was also good, and who can complain with the beautiful views from the restaurant in the morning.

Our room was spotlessly clean, charming with high ceilings, bay window and a very, very comfortable bed. Admittedly is you look closely atthe paintwork in places it perhaps needs some refurbishment, but I really think that this is nitpicking. I stayed at a Hilton recently - soulless identikit bedrooms and bathrooms, the hotel situated close to a busy road and retail park. Wroxall is the opposite of this and all the more refreshing for it.

I planto go back just as soon as we've saved up a few pennies and found someone to have the little one again!
