“Management too dragonian for my liking”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

This was the first time we invited our friends from Cambridgeshire to Warwickshire. A crash on the A14 delayed their arrival and how were they greeted?...you will have to park on the drive with no hook up and if you try to drive the 10 yds to your allotted site you will be seen on camera!! How embarrassing was that????
Next time we will find a site where people who have had difficulties with their journey are welcomed to Warwickshire in a hospitable and friendly manner!!
To add insult to injury they were woken at 6am by cars coming and going from the site!
The journey on the river boat in to Stratford was lovely and well worth the hour long wait for a space.

Thank you so much for your feedback. As you can imagine the team at Riverside are working full on days in the summer months and we do try to get everyone in on time. We do understand that sometimes this is not possible and do try to phone up customers who are late arriving to try and find out what time they are expected. For 2012 hook up will be provided at the late arrival bays to help customers, and other measures are being put into place to help us help customers who are stuck in traffic etc etc. Your feedback is a help to how we run Riverside and look forward to seeing you again .

“Relaxing Break in Lovely Lodges”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

Stayed in a 3-bedroomed Shakespeare Lodge which was really lovely and comfortable with all mod cons. Beautiful location on the River Avon. The site was well-kept and whilst we didn't use the facilities there was a cafe serving cheap breakfasts and other meals. On the adjacent site there was a children's play area and club.

The village of Tiddington is close by and there is a pub which serves reasonably priced meals. There is also a chinese restaurant, wine shop and Spar shop.

Stratford town is a 20 minute walk away and is lovely, but very touristy. We walked in one day and got the river taxi back to the holiday park.

We also visited Warwick Castle which is expensive, but we had a couple of 2 for 1 vouchers which made it reasonable. There is plenty to do there with the jousting, demonstrations, birds of prey as well as castle ramparts, great hall and staterooms. It is extra to go in the Merlin Tower and Dungeons. There are also plenty of shops/activities to pay extra for and the food, as always in these type of places is expensive. My advice would be to take a picnic.

On the whole we went for a relaxing family break away from school and work and that is what we got.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the area too. Our new clubhouse will be built in 2012 giving more facilities on park. Glad you enjoyed the lodges. It is well worth going the other way to The Cotswolds and the surrounding area. Hope to see you again soon. Thank you once again for the feedback.

“Value for money, great location & excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2011

We stayed at the Shakespeare Lodges, which were fantastic in terms of both quality and location. Our riverside location was perfect.
The staff were helpful, knowledgable and friendly.
The river taxi service is a great way to get into town, and an adventure for the kids.
Overall, this is one of the best value locations, perfectly situated for Stratford-upon-Avon, with impeccable standards & staff.

“lovely relaxing location a perfect base to explore”

This was only our second ever trip to a campsite as we are totally novice campers but I must say we had a lovely few days at this site. We had a nice pitch for our motor home with views across the river. Only a short walk to the shower and toilet block, which I must say was absolutely spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and especially the ladies in the cafe, their breakfasts really set you up for the day ahead. We visited the on site club house on one occassion, this was quite small but pleasant enough and approx a ten minute walk from the touring site. We were lucky enough to catch the water ferry into Stratford centre on a few occasions directly from our site, (although I did hear that it doesnt always operate depending on the weather conditions) this costs only £1.50 each way and takes about 20 minutes to get there and it drops you off right in the middle of the town. If you dont catch the water ferry it still only takes approx 25 minutes to walk into the centre or better still it took us only 10 minutes when cycling. This site is well worth a visit just for relaxing or exploring the surrounding area

“Nice Touring Park”

Initially we were a little apprehensive about this sight as we normally look for quiet small sights, however, this is an excellent sight. It was quiet and well presented with very spacious pitches and good facilities. Fantastic location for Stratford either by walking under a one mile or by river boat (£1.50each way) and central for other attractions like Warwick and Kenilworth Castle and others. There is a local pub and great Indian restaurant at the top of the road or a club house on site.
