I booked this accommodation at short notice and focussed more on the location than the type of establishment.
This is not a hotel I would stay at again as it's typical of its type. However it makes the best of what it has but this can't change the fact that it is an old building. The walls are thin so it can be noisy and the patterned carpets everywhere are not to my taste but hey - it was just for one night.
Parking opposite is free which is a big bonus although you need a pass to avoid getting clamped.
For shopping and the local sites you couldn't do any better. Other very big plus points are the breakfast and the staff who could not be faulted. I have given it an average rating as I just couldn't bring myself to give a "very good" but for the rate I paid I shouldn't complain. Probably more of a 3.5!
So - fine for an overnight stay but not somewhere to stay for more than that and unless you are part of a hen party or stag night I would avoid weekends or in summer as it's in the middle of the bar and club area. If you're visiting for the pubs though it's perfect.
