“A peaceful haven”

The barn has been beautifully converted and there is a feeling of spaciousness and quality. The accommodation is all on the first floor and it has been creatively designed to include features such as floor lighting, touch lights, swivel chair and table. The overall impression is of light which is enhanced by glass tables and large mirrors, giving a Scandinavian feel. The silver, sparkly toilet seat came as a surprise and was fun!

We particularly liked the fresh flowers, and, being near to Christmas, the seasonal berries and discreet decorations. It was great to have a quality sound system which we used to listen to Classic FM, and we also appreciated reading the current edition of Suffolk Life - so much so, that we went out and bought our own copy to take home. The option of a bottle of red or white wine for £5 was useful and, although we didn't use them, there were dressing gowns and slippers in a cupboard in the corner . We also found a hairdryer and a hot water bottle. As other reviewers have mentioned, the continental breakfast was waiting for us in the fridge, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and speciality jam and marmalade. We chose the location of the accommodation as we wanted to visit the Lavenham Christmas Fair on Friday evening and this worked out very well.

“Perfect!”

My other half and I stayed at The Old Manse Barn a few weeks ago for one night. WOW! What an amazing loft conversion! The room is situated in the loft of a separate building to the main house and therefore gives you a wonderful feeling of privacy not often found with B&B’s. The bed was so inviting and comfortable! At the end of the bed there is a large window allowing you to lie in bed in the morning and look out over the beautiful countryside, we did not want to get up! The conversion is very well equipped with a seating area, kitchenette, bathroom and of course a delightfully comfortable double bed. Everything is immaculate. The bathroom was sparkling and had all the little luxuries including a massive shower, big enough for 2! A very nice touch is that the owner, Sue, provides a wonderful selection of breakfast luxuries for you in the fridge which you can devour whenever you want. Which in effect almost makes it breakfast in bed! A delightful way of handling breakfast allowing you to add an infinite amount of time to your morning snooze without worrying about decisions you made the night before. Especially prior to that last bottle of wine! Overall The Old Manse Barn was fabulous and in such a quiet part of the country it is a very wonderful place to say for a bit of peace and quiet and has everything you need to make you feel completely at home! Thank you very much indeed Sue .

“Wonderful breakfast of home made mini treats: muffins, scones, figs from the garden, relaxing atmosphere”

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here and wished we could stay longer. Extremely good value for money. The barn is lovely and warm and cosy with a good shower. The owner Sue gave a friendly welcome and provided wonderful breakfasts which I jumped out of bed to eat. Lots of information leaflets, books, guides and maps were there to use. In fact everything you could possibly need is provided in a very generous and relaxed way. We sat out in the garden to eat breakfast on Saturday. Countryside and picturesque villages all around. Loved it and would definitely go back.

“Book it!”

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting family in Norfolk. Excellent standard of accommodation, clean, comfortable and very well appointed. Breakfast was Continental style, placed in fridge for use at our leisure. Very large choice and ample to satisfy even the heartiest needs - top marks.

Location and hostess were also excellent. Very pleasant, quiet and picturesque setting and Sue was very welcoming and accommodating.

Would definitely recommend and revisit.
