My Husband & I stayed at The Old Manse Barn for 2 nights on our road trip around the Uk, Sue and her family who run it are so lovely, Nothing is to much trouble for Sue, she lent me her laptop to email my kids, she washed our clothes for us as we had been travelling for a while, we had a drink with her and her family one night.

The Barn itself is fantastic, clean and very private, you have your own parking and entry, go up some stairs and wow, the queen size bed is faced looking out to the backyard & farm area ( very private ) lounge is big, kitchenette is spacious & clean, Sue leaves a lovely breakfast for you to serve yourself the next day comprising of cereal, toast, OJ,tea, coffee, fruit salad, sweets, cheese, yogurt etc its so good, the bathroom is a great size and very clean

The Suffolk area is so pretty we are so glad we spent 3 days there we had a ball and we highly recommend you stay at The Old Manse Barn, you wont regret it

We recentley stayed at The Old Manse Barn and were made to feel most welcome by Sue on our arrival. The barn itself is an amazingly beautiful place to stay and is everything you could wish for. Our time in the barn was truly amazing and the massive bed which greets you on arrival is extremely comfortable and perfect for spending a morning in bed. We certainly look forward to returning again in the very near future.

Strikingly luxurious, extremely well equipped, peaceful location with lovely views and a very warm and helpful welcome. Ideal for Bury St Edmunds or Lavenham/Long Melford.

“How Lovely!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2011

If you want something special then look no further - the apartment that has everything, your own small kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster - unlimited tea and coffee to Blueray DVD player and the breakfasts - these are put in the fridge the day before and they are absolutely lovely - you can't wait to get back to see what is ready for you. Also there is always some naughty little cakes to have with a cuppa when you return. Such an oasis to come back to - didn't want to leave.
We will hopefully be returning very soon as there is plenty to see in the area.
SUPER!!!!

“A peaceful haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

The barn has been beautifully converted and there is a feeling of spaciousness and quality. The accommodation is all on the first floor and it has been creatively designed to include features such as floor lighting, touch lights, swivel chair and table. The overall impression is of light which is enhanced by glass tables and large mirrors, giving a Scandinavian feel. The silver, sparkly toilet seat came as a surprise and was fun!

We particularly liked the fresh flowers, and, being near to Christmas, the seasonal berries and discreet decorations. It was great to have a quality sound system which we used to listen to Classic FM, and we also appreciated reading the current edition of Suffolk Life - so much so, that we went out and bought our own copy to take home. The option of a bottle of red or white wine for £5 was useful and, although we didn't use them, there were dressing gowns and slippers in a cupboard in the corner . We also found a hairdryer and a hot water bottle. As other reviewers have mentioned, the continental breakfast was waiting for us in the fridge, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and speciality jam and marmalade. We chose the location of the accommodation as we wanted to visit the Lavenham Christmas Fair on Friday evening and this worked out very well.
