“Only stay if you get a room at a discount and don't mind noise.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Right above Subway, Dominos and KFC, a petrol station in front means you get plenty of noise from cars. It's also right in a roundabout so this increases the noise.

I've been staying regularly at this lodge for 3 months and by booking ahead you can get rooms at around £20 which I have to say is what they are worth.

Cobwebs, broken hangers, broken blinds and dirty walls are common.

I've given them plenty of feedback through there 'give us feedback' emails which are ignored.

Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Overall if you can get a room for £20 then all these issues have to be taken in balance. However I would be very dissapointed if I paid full price.

“You get exactly what you pay for”

A Travelodge is a Travelodge is a Travelodge. Stay in one, and you've stayed in them all.

It's based in a fairly quiet spot - although it's right on a roundabout the traffic wasn't too noisy when we were there. Friendly staff who were generous with additional towels and tea and coffess sachets.

Local restaurants are a bit limited; there's a Subway a couple of doors along, and a Kentucky Fried Chicken a few yards away. Not really walking distance into the town centre but it was quiet when we were there so we found parking quite easily. If you are into New Age stuff then Glastonbury is the place to go. The Abbey ruins are fantastic, especially the Abbot's Dining Room. Lots of nice restaurants in town, we could eat in a different one each evening of our stay and they were all very acceptable. Especially if you're a Veggie.

A good base for touring Somerset and Dorset and well placed for visiting the Shopping Village at Street which is a very good reason for staying there.

We would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing away from the road if you're a light sleeper

“Not expecting much - and not surprised!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Having read other TripAdvisor reviews on the Glastonbury Travelodge I was not expecting much - but even though I arrived with a positive mental attitude it was hard to find too much to be positive about! The room was really cold (and the wall mounted heater was not up to competing with what was coming through the gaps around the windows), it smelt very strongly of air freshener and was noisy (traffic from the very close junction and noise from the nearby garage). Extremely sparsely equipped, the 'duvet' was thin and the 2 meagre pillows were enough for one person but would not have been any good had there been more. I paid 50 pounds. I wouldn't stay here again - even if I was on my own and just needed to stay in Glastonbury. As a fellow reviewer also says, I too have stayed in other Travelodges and they were all better than this.

“New Years Eve”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We decided to celebrate New Years Eve in Glastonbury this year with friends, but due to not being able to book until last minute were left with booking this Travelodge. Now, firstly, I would say I have stayed in other Travelodge's around the country with my job and had no real issues - however I have to say this has to be the worst !
Having read the review by "mike a" I can totally agree with all his comments, the bed / mattress was awful and I can only compare it to one I used in a "1970's" Bulgaria hotel !!, luckily we didn't have any noise issues from the KFC, but I guess only due to being out till after it closed, (the industrial park setting looks very dodgy !) there were only one set of towels, a very this duvet, no loo brush / spare loo roll, failed extractor fan & the TV was broken. The final insult was having to pay full price due to booking late & no response from the company when I complained on return home. All in all an absolutely rubbish hotel which I will never use again when visiting this fantastic area.

Room Tip: Get a room elsewhere !!
