We stayed for a couple of nights at the Grosvenor Lodge to enjoy a weekend in Bath. Before we'd even stepped through the front door, Colin made us feel extremely welcome and by the time we'd got to the elegant reception room with it's airy high ceiling we felt completely at home.
Colin gave us some great information on places to eat and drink (try the King William, just down the road) and made a mean breakfast each morning. If I had to make any critical comments it would be that our room was quite small, but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights, and the quality of the bed more than made up for it.
I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area and would happily recommend Grosvenor Lodge to family and friends.
My Husband and I had a fabulouse stay in this excellent bed and breakfast, we stayed in the ground floor room with a bathroom on the lower floor but completely private to oursleves. The room was fantastically presented and immaculately clean with wonderfull eccentric touches and original antiques. We slept very comfortably and enjoyed deliciouse breakfast cooked by our host Colin every morning in a very grand dining room adornded with family heirlooms. The atmosphere in this b and b is very relaxed adn we certainly felt like welcomed friends asopposed to paying guests. I highly reccomend it.
Even thought the guest house is not situated in the city centre it is a 20 minute walk inot the centre of Bath and there is a delightfull canal route into town if you fancy a change of scenery.
Thank you Grovsenore Lodge for a delightful stay

We decided to go to Bath on a summer weekend - short notice, Grosvenor lodge (a small and intimate inn with 3 or 4 guest rooms) accommodated our situation, travelling with 2 dogs with only the usual prudent restriction, don't leave pets alone in the room. The room and common area were quite pleasant. Check out the beautifully restored ceiling in the main room. The traditional English breakfast fare was fresh, high quality and abundant. The conversation with inn keeper and other guests was informative, interesting and intelligent. The walk to the centre of Bath was a bit on the long side, but busses did run regularly, and what do you do with dogs but take walks? The river and canal side paths were quite close, and the nearby and extensive Kensington meadow was a perfect place to relax outdoors.
A charming place to stay close to the centre of Bath - 20 minute walk into the centre or you can take a bus. A beautifully decorated and furnished guest house particularly the Lounge / Dining Room area. Very comfortable bedroom and bed which enabled me to sleep very soundly. Colin is a superb host and very entertaining.
