My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in November. i chose not to park o the driveway as you'd have to give up your keys to the owners in case they had to move it, and parked on the road where there is plenty of space. Walking up to the house, you go through a fabulous and very well maintained garden. The house looks splendid from the outside too. We were greeted by David, who showed us our room, the Indian Room, and he helpfully gave us some tips on getting into Bath city centre and the facilities in the room, and in the house. The Indian room had been converted from a twin to a double bed for our stay which
must have been some effort!
The room is named so because of two wall-mounted cases of Indian soldier models, and the Indian theme is continued in the rugs and other ornaments. The room is a good size, has a TV with plenty of channels, a nice big shower and a dressing table. There is great view of the garden and the adjoining church through big windows. There is a big wardrobe with a hairdryer in too! The other point of interest in the house is the library, with a fabulous door cast from book spines, it looks like somthing from a film. The library itself is cosy with an ecclectic mix of books, very peaceful, and is available for guests at all times I believe.
Breakfast is a selection of fruit and cereals along with toast, and then a choice between a full English, or if you're a vegetarian like me, a fantastic curried egg dish. The owners have an amazingly beautiful cat too which is very friendly, and has quite a story behind it. It will probably greet you for breakfast! Cat allergies won't be a problem though, you best ask why if that's a concern, but it's all taken care of. The owners are very helpful and easy to talk to. They conjured up a cake knife and presentation set in mere moments when I sprung a surprise cake for my girlfriend's birthday. I was surprised at the price of it all, bargain, and with great service.
Getting into Bath is easy, there's a bus stop on the main road outside, or you can walk downhill for 15 minutes into the main street.
We'd go back for sure.
