“Simply wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is the second time we have stayed at The Hollies, and we wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else. The entire house is spotless, from snowy bedlinen and towels through the gleaming bathroom to shining silver and sparkling crystal on the breakfast table. In fact, I'd give it 10 stars for cleanliness if I could. David and Joe are charming hosts, the house and its contents are delightful, and Joe's homemade jams are to die for! It's a short bus ride or a half-hour stroll down the hill into town, and, if you can't fact the walk back up, we paid £5 for a taxi last Sunday night. Staying at The Hollies would certainly enhance anyone's visit to this lovely city.

“A lovely long weekend in Bath”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

We stayed for 3 nights,my wife and i in the Indian Room and my brother and his wife in the Chinese Room. The food was excellent (my brother is a vegetarian) and David and Joe were wonderful hosts, though Amber the cat was the one in charge! You could spend a day or so in the library or move into the dolls house (it's that big!),character everywhere. You are made to feel part of the family,we loved it and will be back sometime in the new year. We walked into Bath each morning, about 20 mins,a lovely city with so much to see and do,including 219 stalls in the Christmas Market in mid December! All in all we had a great time. Terry & Pam Bond

“Excellent B&B in Bath”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

I've stayed in a few places in Bath before now, and this one was really excellent. David and Joe were charming hosts, the rooms impeccable and the cat gorgeous! They did a lovely vegetarian breakfast for my partner's mother, and I had one of the best scrambled eggs I've eaten in a long while. As other guests have commented, the library is a delight.
It's an easy bus-ride into town and the taxis back late at night aren't too expensive (around £7). I would definitely recommend this place.

“Indian Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in November. i chose not to park o the driveway as you'd have to give up your keys to the owners in case they had to move it, and parked on the road where there is plenty of space. Walking up to the house, you go through a fabulous and very well maintained garden. The house looks splendid from the outside too. We were greeted by David, who showed us our room, the Indian Room, and he helpfully gave us some tips on getting into Bath city centre and the facilities in the room, and in the house. The Indian room had been converted from a twin to a double bed for our stay which
must have been some effort!

The room is named so because of two wall-mounted cases of Indian soldier models, and the Indian theme is continued in the rugs and other ornaments. The room is a good size, has a TV with plenty of channels, a nice big shower and a dressing table. There is great view of the garden and the adjoining church through big windows. There is a big wardrobe with a hairdryer in too! The other point of interest in the house is the library, with a fabulous door cast from book spines, it looks like somthing from a film. The library itself is cosy with an ecclectic mix of books, very peaceful, and is available for guests at all times I believe.

Breakfast is a selection of fruit and cereals along with toast, and then a choice between a full English, or if you're a vegetarian like me, a fantastic curried egg dish. The owners have an amazingly beautiful cat too which is very friendly, and has quite a story behind it. It will probably greet you for breakfast! Cat allergies won't be a problem though, you best ask why if that's a concern, but it's all taken care of. The owners are very helpful and easy to talk to. They conjured up a cake knife and presentation set in mere moments when I sprung a surprise cake for my girlfriend's birthday. I was surprised at the price of it all, bargain, and with great service.

Getting into Bath is easy, there's a bus stop on the main road outside, or you can walk downhill for 15 minutes into the main street.

We'd go back for sure.
