Positive points:
warm and welcoming with some luxury touches way above what you would expect for this price in London. Tastefully furnished with clean, small, but well designed rooms and showers (quality soap etc), with all you need for a comfortable stay. A kettle, safe and empty fridge are provided alongside hanging and shelf space. Even the hangers match. Much thought has gone into creating a pleasing ambiance and the staff are charming and helpful without exception. There is evidence of competent management in both the attitudes to guests and the general state of the furnishings and building. It is good to stay somewhere without other peoples' stains on the carpets or scuffs on the walls. The public spaces are spacious with WiFi and computer terminals, a selection of daily newspapers adds to the experience. Breakfasts are adequate, well priced for the area, although artisan bread rather than 'supermarket' variety would be a welcome touch as would fresh fruit, even if this meant a slight increase in price. Delivered in 'self-service' style, supplies are replenished constantly even at busy times.
To make it even better:
access to an iron and board
more shelf/cabinet space for personal toiletries in the bathroom
a mirror in the bedroom
and less fierce automatic door closers would mitigate against fellow guests who are less than considerate in their comings and goings.
An oasis in a green leafy square, in a cosmopolitan neighbourhood with a variety of restaurants and cafes and near to the underground and buses.
Accommodation for the discerning.
to make if even better:
Room Tip: garden rooms are a little larger
