If you are looking for a base to explore from then I would venture that this isn't a bad choice, it's near to a tube station but further enough away from the main road to be comfortable. I had to queue for 25 minutes to get checked in which was frustrating, my room was very clean but tiny and cold until I amazingly worked out how to work the heating unit on the wall (there were no instructions). The tea/coffee facilities were adequate but nothing special. I understand that a business has to protect itself from less scrupulous individuals but I had to have my entire bill plus £50 'pre authorised' which caught out some in front of me in the check in queue (being the last Thursday before payday!), there were also signs in the room warning of penalties for smoking and a menu for room service and a cost for films which I had been advised were for free but didn't use but there was nothing giving me advice of where to go, a map of the area, attractions nearby etc, it sort of screamed of "you're here, you'll pay and don't break the rules or you'll pay more" rather then "Welcome, what do you want to know?". The room was quiet and I slept well although the second night the people sorting out the bins sounded like they were having races with the biggest bins they could find. The upgrade works did not affect me and working in construction I was impressed at the lack of disruption they were managing to achieve. The huge mirror door to the bathroom at the foot of the bed was a bit disconcerting especially when half asleep and not expecting to see anyone else in the room! Finally I am glad I didn't buy breakfast at £18 a shot as the queue was at least 25 people deep when I went out in the morning. I did not use the spa facilities so cannot comment on them. Staff I encountered were a little aloof but professional.
Room Tip: Although they didn't offer me a choice and the choice made was good for low noise, I would ask f...
