“Nice hotel - shame about the breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

One night stay = everything about the hotel was excellent - nice room, great views, really friendly staff, great location.

Everything, that is, apart from breakfast. Breakfast started at 7am in the Brasserie - I was in there at 0705 am and everything was cold, the bacon, sausage, beans, mushroom, egg etc. It all looked great, but a huge dissappointment that such lovely food was cold.

Come on guys - if Hilton hotels can keep their buffet breakfasts hot, I am sure that you can.

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
Really pleased that you found the Hotel to be excellent and the team really friendly.
I really appreciate you letting me know about the breakfast you experienced first thing in the morning. I have discussed this personally with the kitchen and breakfast teams to ensure that this does not happen again.
Thanks for feeding back; it’s really helpful for me to know.
Kind regards
Ian

“June trip to london”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed at he hotel for 3 days, the hotel is with good location, althogh it is very noisy almost all night, ships passing , whisling, the view is good. The room was OK, clean, with appliances, no electricity addapters were available for free, we hav to buy one from the hotel reception desk. The windows are very small, no terraces, but this is tipical for most English hotels. Breakfast was rich, but the restorant very small, so you have to wait to be seated.

Room Tip: choose a non smokers room

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
I’m delighted to confirm that next month will see the transformation of our Carvery restaurant into our premier breakfast area which, along with a range benefits will increase capacity and further improve the breakfast experience. The new Gallery restaurant will be open from mid April 2012.
I’m so sorry you were disturbed by noise from the river on the night of your stay.
Thanks again for your feedback.
Kind regards
Ian

“A quick business trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

A quick business to trip - the Tower is where I always go - just a few minutes walk from the City.

My most recent trip was as good as expected - staff are very efficient and always willing to help - free upgrade to a room overlooking the river was very welcome too.

Breakfast was good too - prompt and friendly service and good quality.

Very good value for money.

Room Tip: Try to get a view of the river or marina if you can.

“Go just for the views, amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This hotel is about 7 mins stroll from Tower Hill underground, and 5 mins from the DLR Gateway station to Canary Wharf. I used Fenchurch Street, 15 mins to catch a train out to Essex, 30 mins.
Check In would be my only complaint it took abut half an hour.
Once in my room, I had beautiful views of the Thames and St Kathrerines dock to the side, and watched the boats going out onto the Thames. I stayed 4 night Mon-Thurs. I met a colleague one night and we sat outside and watched the world go sailing by. It is right on the front and has tables and chairs outside the downstairs restaurant with waiter service - very pleasant.

The room service and standard of food is good, and the Tower restaurant, food good quality and more amazing views. I now know where a lot of films get the views from with the backdrop of the bridge.

Breakfast was a good standard, and there are two restaurants to choose from.

It's quite expensive considering there are a lot of other hotels, £160.00 per night. They will not give you these views.

I would stay there again.

Room Tip: 4th Floor corner room gives views of the Thames and of St Katherines Dock.

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
I was pleased to read you took advantage of our terrace outside the Brasserie and enjoyed the amazing views of the river and bridge; it certainly is a fantastic spot for watching the world go by. Thanks also for your kind comments about the standard of food. I’m so sorry that your check in was delayed, we strive to welcome our guests in a friendly and efficient manner particularly at peak times. I hope that the lapse on this occasion did not cause too much of an inconvenience.
Thanks again for letting me know; looking forward to welcoming you back soon

“Only gets a 3 for the great view!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel several times but this time i was a little disapppointed :( We arrived at 1.40pm when check in starts at 2pm. I am currently 6 months pregnant so just wanted to get to my room. I asked if there was any way we could check in 20 mins early and we were told we could.... but with an attitude! We were told there was a room free but it was on the 1st floor so wouldn't have the best view (but we could upgrade for £30 if we wished) We took the room as I was tired from travelling.
The room did have a view of the bridge (which is beautiful) but we had the flat roof there first! The room was clean but tatty, needed a refurb in my opinion and I promise I'm not fussy! The bed was rock hard which I personally dont like but others may find this ok.
The breakfast is a stupidly high price so we went to weatherspoons down the road and saved ourselves £30!!!
The positive of the location and view does outweight the negatives and I would stay again but I wouldn't go for the most basic room and I wouldn't have the nerve to arrive 20 mins early for check in!!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the bridge or docks, depending on your preference!

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
I’m so sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay with us this time. The unfriendly attitude you received from the receptionist is inexcusable and I have personally shared your comments with the Front of House team. We are continuing to upgrade our rooms as part of our ongoing improvement works in the hotel and I’d be happy to update you, the majority of our rooms have now been completed.
I really appreciate you letting me know as feedback is invaluable to me. I hope we will be able to welcome you back to the Tower again soon.
Kind regards
Ian
