“An oasis of comfort”

We stayed in tne Draycott for 10 days in September, and were very sorry to leave at the end of our stay.Having tried various other disappointing hotels in London over the years, we were rather apprehensive, but were won over as soon as we entered. The staff were all exceptionally warm, welcoming and helpful and made us feel very well looked after. Our room [ the Richardson] was very comfortable in a traditional way, with a very comfortable bed, some lovely antiques and comfortable sofas and armchairs ...The small fridge in the room was stocked with delicious juices, and our regular early morning tea tray was accompanied with lovely biscuits. The breakfast was outstanding, both the cooked food , and the continental options on the sideboard .We always looked forward to coming back 'home' at the end of an exhausting day, and being greeted with " Good evening ...would you like a glass of champagne ?, or would you perhaps prefer a pot of tea ? ". Bliss. Would not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: No road noise. Didn't see any other rooms

“Nice boutique feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Loved celebrating Christmas 2009 here, my family of four had a whole floor of the hotel, we were very comfortable with our own kitchen, separate study, our huge master bedroom and one twin room. Staff were nice, position was excellent, really felt at home.

“A home from home”

With so many hotels to choose from in London, which do you go for? We love the beautiful georgian buildings in London - after all, this is one of the aspects of the city that make it unique - so what better than to stay in a beautiful residential-looking house off Cadogan Gardens nr Sloane Sq. This place really is a home away from home. From the elegant furnishings to the warm and welcoming staff; the cosy (not by size but general feel) and homely bedrooms, I cannot wait to go back.

Things to note: there is no restaurant or bar but they do serve a beautiful breakfast and they also provide complimentary tea and coffee every afternoon at 4pm and champagne every evening at 6pm - the little touches huh!

“You will feel like you are at a Bed and Breakfast.”

The DorchesterThis little hotel is a hidden gem located within 5 minutes of SloanSquare. It has a fairly small staff so don't be alarmed if you arrive and there is not a valet waiting for you to take your bags up 8 stairs to the entry hall.I felt like it was run more like a Bed and Breakfast and that it was a private home. While the hotel could use some refurbishing it was easy to overlook some of the blemishes, (worn carpets, etc.)Every room has a name of someone that has left a legacy and you can read about that person if you like as material is provided for you in the room.My room was quite large with a sitting area in front of a fireplace. In all fairness, I was only there for a one night stay so I did not eat any meals. There is such a quirkiness about this hotel that it is a must.Take time to climb all the " up the down" staircases.

“Perfection in London.”

The Draycott Hotel is a peaceful oasis in a noisy, bustling , exciting city. We arrived late in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed and helped with our heavy luggage. This hotel is elegantly furnished without being stuffy or pretentious. We sadly missed afternoon tea, but were in time for free champagne in the delightful drawing room. Our room was beautiful, almost a suite, with a view of the gardens. Exquisite furnishings and high quality linens. Even the well appointed bathroom had a heated floor. It was like being a welcome guest in someone's lovely home. We were served a fine breakfast in their sun filled breakfast room. This was not cheap, but we felt it was worth every penny and would not hesitate to return there.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view if possible.
