“Birthday Treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Our stay at The Town Hall was a wonderful treat for my 65th birthday from my daughter, husband and family. It is a beautiful building with lots of the original features preserved. The room was excellent with every attention to detail. Wonderful coffee, tea, chocolates!! Everything you could want or need. First class in every way. Staff especially pleasant and friendly - obviously they are very proud of their workplace - understandably so too. Would love to visit again.

“Amazing renovation, great value”

The Town Hall Hotel & Apartments is an incredible place and not your average London hotel. We stayed in a standard double on the second floor, which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the toiletries in the bathroom (Rituals) which I don't like as I find them overpowering and sickly.
We had breakfast in the Corner Room -- this is actually quite small, which made me wonder what it would be like if the hotel were to be really busy and most people chose to stay for breakfast. That said, maybe people go elsewhere or have room service!
We also sampled the delights of the bar before going out and the mixologist was very knowledgeable and friendly.
The following day, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch in Viajante - a marvellous experience. We had front row seats (the kitchen is in the restaurant) and were fascinated to watch the experts at work. The meal was EXCELLENT and very different, which we loved.
We will certainly be using this hotel again, both for leisure and business purposes.
The building has been very well renovated and we really appreciated the fact that they had integrated a lot of the old features from when the building was actually used as a Town Hall.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind feedback on your visit to the Town Hall Hotel & Apartments. It is nice to know that your stay has been a pleasant experience than that you found the hotel to be spotless, clean and comfortable. I am terribly sorry to hear the toiletries were not to your liken. I please do know that you liked the mixture of designs that was achieved by reutilising some of the old Town Hall features, as well as the designed original furniture, presented in a stylish and modern fashion. I am glad to know, that your wedding anniversary at the Viajante restaurant was a success and that you loved Nuno's cuisine, as well as the cocktails at the bar with a friendly service from the staff there. Thank you for choosing the Town Hall Hotel for your stay in London and I can confirm that your feedback has been shared with all the team here. Should you required any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you directly. Many thanks and kind regards, Sandro Desole

“My second home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The town hall hotel & apartements is my London home, my home away from home, my beautiful peaceful luxury treat when business is holding me in London. Staff is always friendly and attentive whether I’m on 1 month stay or a 1 night stay. When I book it’s with the pleasure of knowing the room will be warm no matter what (I’m always chilly and that has been an issue in other London hotels) and that a delicious truffle will await my usually late arrival, with the anticipation of discovering yet another different room, each are special no worldwide chain feeling here, with the knowledge that if I need something I can just ask and it will most likely be sorted out, always with a smile… and cherry on top with sometimes the surprise of crazy double upgrade.
Rooms are to die for. I'm a big contemporary design fan and I love the mix of pieces, from the genuine 20s art deco furniture (like powder mirror of room 103!) to modern ultra comfortable beds in every room, from the owl hidden in the stairway ivy to the signature rubber duck in every bathroom, from the crazy ceilings and domes with perfect lightening to the marble floors. I don’t like tacky flashy marble bathroom and chandeliers… none of this at the town hall, its just good taste, originality & perfect balance of white and color patches, of historic and modern.

Ok indulging in the appreciation of those non essential luxury comfort is somewhat shallow, I know that, but it’s what makes my weekly business trip something to look forward to.

“Not perfect, but definitively come again!”

Town Hall Hotel its very special. You can feel that you are not in a chain hotel. And that's great. The staff is pretty unconventional. Which it great for the most part. But sometimes they were a bit too casual for my taste. I wasn't sure who was the guest...
Especially the woman at the front desk was not friendly when I arrived. But she probably didn't mean it in a bad way...
The Design is great. Sometimes it feels like function followed form instead of the other way around.
Breakfast is small but good. The corner room restaurant is excellent.
Despite the shortcomings I would (and will) return and will recommend it to my friends.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind feedback on your visit to the Town Hall Hotel & Apartments. It is nice to know that you found the THH special and unconventional which is what THH hotel is all about. Our informal approach, it is not done out of disrespect to our client but rather with the intent to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I am sorry though to hear that the impression of our receptionist did not seem to be very friendly but thank you for brining this to my attention. I glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you thought that our Corner Room restaurant food is great but the breakfast portions could have been a little bigger. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused in this area. Thank you for choosing the Town Hall Hotel for your stay in London and I can confirm that your feedback will be shared with all the team here. Should you required any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you directly. Many thanks and kind regards, Sandro Desole

“Still A Buzz To Stay There”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I come to London 3 or 4 times a year, heading for the independent shops and markets of the unsanitised East End and I always stay at the Town Hall. Because of its design, I would suggest you ask for a quiet room and try for the third( top) floor, especially if you're staying on a Friday/ Saturday night. Voices do reverberate around the lobby area and stairwell. The rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable and the rooms without frills. Steel greys and dark greens- quite " masculine" in design. My only gripes this time were that the towel rail didn't work and one of the taps on the bath was coming loose, so it was a problem turning the showers on. No doubt those will be attended to. And I had booked 2 double rooms, one for me and one for a friend, and paid the deposits for both. When we booked in, eary afternoon, one room wasn't ready. My friend was immediately offered a nice upgrade. Excellent service and it made her feel rather special. Now, this may be more of a comment on my rather pathetic reaction but,as we were travelling together and booking in at the same time, I did feel a little miffed that she had been upgraded and my request for one ignored. However, that's insignificant and I would and will stay again. With or without an upgrade, this really is a haven and a genuinely nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Third floor, facing the central area or side street

Dear Guests
Thank you for sharing your feedback on TripAdvisor on your recent stay at Town Hall Hotel & Apartments. I am pleased to hear that you and your friend enjoyed your stay with us. Please forgive us for not having the apartment ready when you arrived at the hotel, but I am glad to know that our complimentary upgrade has been well received but I am so sorry, to hear that we were a little disappointed that we did not extend our gesture of goodwill to you too, in this occasion. I am glad to know that you really love the hotel as we do and that you choose us above any other accommodation when you visiting London. I am also sorry to hear about the noisy apartments from loud voices from the corridors and the lobby but please for future reference do request an apartment on the higher floors at time of reservation and we will do all we can to honour your request. It is always very encouraging to know that despite this incident you will be returning to stay with again in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be more than happy to assist with any enquiry you may have. Many thanks and kind regards, Sandro Desole
