The way All Star Hostel operates can be a bit confusing. When you reserve a bed in their hostel, you are advised to arrive to one address or the staff will collect you from the nearest tube station. All Star Hostel seems to have many houses in the area and you don't necessarily end up living in the address you had been given.
I stayed in a wonderful, almost mansion-like house. The house was wonderfully modern and spacious. We had free coffee, tea and toast with marmalade. The toilets and shower rooms were downstairs next to the kitchen and dining area, and sometimes there were quite many people using the facilities at the same time.
The staff was nice. The only problem were the workmen who took care of the cleaning and maintenance of the property. For some reason the workmen came to clean the house in the morning, when everybody needed to use the showers, toilets and kitchen. Sometimes there wasn't toilet paper for a quite long time and when the hand soap ran out, it wasn't added. The shower cubicles were not necessarily cleaned, when the toilet seats and sinks were cleaned. Sometimes they forgot to open the doors to the lounge and backyard, those doors were kept locked during the night. Some of the workmen were actually quite rude - they seemed to hate their job.
