“worst hostel I have ever stayed in”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

This is by far one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed in. The room I was in had 3 sets of bunks stacked 3 high and was SO small. There was barely enough room to fit everyones bag on the floor. To make things worse, each morning the cleaning woman would come in around 8am, turn all the lights on and vacuum waking everyone up. The hostel did have a bar that served food downstairs so that was nice. There were also laptops available for use in the common area and they always had movies playing for entertainment.

“Worse Place I have Ever Stayed **AVOID**”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

3 of us booked in to a triple room for a long weekend in London. When we arrived we found the room was so small could we stand and touch the side of the bed and wall at the same time. There was no space for our bags and many people in other dorms lined their bags up in the hallway out side. Besides the fire hazard this caused (not being able to exit the building) it meant anyone had access to your bags. There was only 2 showers and 2 toilets on our floor and 2 showers and 1 toilet on the floor below. The showers on our floor where scolding and despite asking the person on front desk this did not change so everyone was using the showers below. We ended up having to stay one night as it was to late to find anything else.
It was a compete rip off at 40 pound per night each (that's more then a B&B). We ended up going to Journey's New Cross and 18 pound each a night was amazing and best hostel i have ever stayed at.

“Unless you are 18 and looking for a party, don't bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

I consider this the worst hostel I have ever stayed in, however, I can identify some good points, and I know that some people will like it here!

I stayed for 3 nights and the whole time the place was almost entirely full of young people that are just there to party. So if this is you.... when I would recommend it here.

For the rest of us, who perhaps do care that the kitchen is filthy and that you will be kept awake by very inconsiderate and loud young people, please don't stay here.

The dorms have triple bunks which means there is very little head room and if you are unlucky like me to be on the top one, you will feel like your in a boat on rough seas whenever someone below you moves. The beds do have curtians and individual lights which is nice, but i don't feel this makes up for not being able to sit up in bed.

The staff were generally pretty nice and friendly and the included breakfast is quite good and plentiful. There is a bar downstairs, which is also the common room. This means that to relax on the couch at night, you are surrounded by lots of young drinking hostellers and loud music. The common room/pub is also quite small.

its about a 10 minute walk to the closest tube station and the same to the high street for buses, shops and the supermarket. It doesn't seem like the safest area and I did not feel comfortable walking around after dark, even with my partner.

I know this all makes me sound like I'm about 40 and hate travelling, but i promise that is not the case. I just like to stay in a clean place where I feel safe and don't have to be around Inconsiderate people.

“A ''family-like'' hostel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2010

location is great, only takes about 5 minutes to get to the tube station, cozy atmosphere and affable staff let you totally enjoy your stay there, what's even more amazing is the hostel is like a big family, people seem to know each other there, people interact with joy and laughter ,and they always welcome new people to join them, which makes you feel not new at all !!
By the way,the pizzas there are awesome!!

The beds are three-decked, there are safety boxes, there was some breakfast - toast and cornflakes, coffee, free wi-fi (if you have laptop, if not - you can hire for 2,5 pounds), and on the last day of my stay I found a better and cheaper hostel just next to Hyde park.
