We booked by phone about three weeks before our trip. We had stayed before some three or four years ago and were more than pleased with food, accommodation and freindly owners.

We pulled off the main road to find the place looking derelict, there were weeds everywhere not very inviting at all! Beginning to feel a bit uneasy we parked and went to book in at reception to find all doors locked. Feeling even more easy we tried to phone, no reply. Just as we were about to leave the owner turned up and my husaband introduced himself and said we had a room booked for the night. The owner stated that he had no rooms available. When we said again that we had booked he apologised and said 'it's my fault' He offered to ring around his friends but I told him not to bother. To make matters worse he had parked behind us making it difficult for us to get out of the car park. My husband manouvered the car only to hit a gate causing several hundred pounds worth of damage. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

An overall genuinely pleasant experience including great hospitality from the owners and a warm friendly atmosphere. My friends and i were welcomed and even offered a lift to our local destination. We were shown our rooms and the facilities and were offered a variety of items for our breakfasts the following day at a time suiting our needs as opposed to a strict 'breakfast will be served at' policy.
Following a sound sleep in a clean and comfortable bed, we attended the restaurant area and were met with a good quality breakfast and a hot cup of filtered coffee, ticking all the boxes in the bed and breakfast pre-requisite!
In short i would definitely recommend a visit.
