“Breakfast Wow!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Recommended The Seaton by friends and we were not disappointed. The new owners make you feel so at home and it makes such a refreshing change to be able to have your breakfast at a time you want and not be told when, and what a breakfast it is!! Yes it is your typical Blackpool B&B decor wise but the laid back relaxed atmosphere more than makes up for this. We loved it so much have already booked to come back with friends.

“Blackpool Rocks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2008

The Seaton is a traditional seaside guest house - one of a vanishing breed, sadly. It is small, family run and well looked after; its proprietors Rose & Alan are friendly, helpful and obliging.

For the first time visitor to Blackpool its location is ideal. The Tower and piers are only a ten minute walk away; The Pleasure Beach is but a short tram ride down the seafront. It is also just far enough away from Blackpool’s bank holiday town centre mayhem to allow a good night’s sleep.

Breakfast is the traditional full english with as many refills of tea, coffee, cereals and toast as you ask for. Guests are given keys to the hotel doors and are free to come and go as they wish.

It does not do evening meals. There are however plenty of restaurants and eating houses within a short distance. And most people prefer to eat out when they visit Blackpool anyway.

The accommodation is clean and tidy with central heating and TV in all rooms. Some of the rooms are en suite. The stairs to its two upper floors are rather steep so it’s probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

There is limited car parking at the front of the hotel and secure garage parking to the rear. This is useful because Hornby Road is flanked by double yellow lines and the nearby town centre car parks are pricey.

Compared to a hotel some might find the rooms a little cramped, but that’s how seaside guest house accommodation is. Besides who goes to Blackpool to stay in?

“Well-kept small hotel in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2007

I spent a pleasant weekend here. The hotel is well-kept and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient and fairly quiet, 5-10 minutes walk inland from the prom and the town centre, and about 10 minutes walk south from Blackpool North station. There is a bus stop close by for the "sightseeing" bus (route 20) on its way to Stanley Park and the zoo, and I think the bus stop for the other direction (town centre and Pleasure Beach) is in Park Road, although for that direction it is probably easier to walk down to the prom; buses are roughly half-hourly in each direction, so check the timetable. The hotel's entry on Laterooms mentions WiFi; this would certainly be a welcome facility in Blackpool, which has very little public internet access; there was no mention of WiFi at the hotel itself or on the hotel's own web site, so if this is important to you, check with the hotel before booking. Breakfast, the traditional full English, is at 9am, with checkout by 10am.
