Never stayed in Blackpool in my life, but booked this as a one night extension to a short stay in Morecambe, and to split the journey home for my wife and I.
First things first... DON'T book car parking... there is plenty of free parking street side in front of the hotel, but I guess high season may be a different question. Reception was friendly and fast. The communal areas were clean and tidy.
The room was very good, benefiting from the relative youth of this facility. I gather the facility has only been open 3 years and it shows! General cleanliness was very good. Shower not a bath...The shower was excellent, loads of hot water and at a good pressure, but remember your toiletries... this is a Travelodge!!! The button covers were missing on the shower controls, but this is a small gripe.
The bed was soft but comfortable, a flat screen TV complimented well. The ambient lighting behind the bed is a clever idea but at what cost?
I booked breakfast and dinner as part of the package - this Travelodge benefits from a cafe-bar. It would of been cheaper to eat in the town but the food was good (not sure if microwaved, but still good), and served in ample portions. Dinner had a good choice and included 2 courses and a drink. Breakfast had a good choice, was hot and included as much toast as you wanted. The one disappointment was that my croissant was dry. If included with the booking there is a small discount on the meals.
In brief, if you want to stay in Blackpool, you can do a lot worse than here!!!
