Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an excellent 2 night stay. We are in the midfle of Stow so everything is in walking distance. A Great bar/restaurant downstairs which also a very delightful breakfast with very efficient staff. Our room was just lovely loads of room, great bath!

The signature room at Sheep on Sheep Street is absolutely charming, spacious and so cozy. The bed was one of the most comfortable of any place I've stayed, with the fluffiest and most perfect pillows and bedding. I loved all the thoughtful touches and country-rustic decor - I could've stayed for a week, it was so lovely. The service was warm and friendly. We got breakfast included, which was lovely as well. Can't wait to go back!

Comfortable hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. All the food was excellent. Family came to join us for lunch on the Saturday and all made to feel very welcome. Good position in the centre of Stow on the Wold and had parking. Would definitely stay there again

Came to the sheep as a family for a meal. We were greeted and served by a lovely blonde woman called Holly. Holly was fantastic so welcoming, friendly and so good with our children. The food was great and the whole establishment is very child friendly. Will definitely return!

The Sheep on Sheep Street a great find, lovely rooms and at a very reasonable rate. Breakfast was excellent and included in the price. We also dined in the evening, it was a Sunday and most of the roasts had gone but the roast pork which was left, didn't disappoint. We'll definitely be back with our next group of visitors!

The food and staff at The Sheep were great, we had a lovely dinner and the breakfasts were generous, but unfortunately our room wasn't up to scratch. The paint was peeling, the windows were damp and the walls were so thin we could hear our neighbours coughing and chatting.

We arranged for a group of 22 people to stay and eat at the Sheep to celebrate a significant birthday. The event was arranged as a surprise and the staff were simply amazing - ensuring everything was done to maintain the surprise to the last minute and then looked after us brilliantly in the evening. The food was delicious and all served quickly despite the size of our group and that they had a busy Saturday night in the restaurant to contend with as well. I would thoroughly recommend the Sheep to anyone and we are already looking to make this a regular event there. A massive thank you!!

Excellent stay at the Sheep. Friendly efficient service, lovely room and a great food. The restaurant has a good menu for dinner and breakfast. Centrally located in Stow which is very convenient. Parking at the hotel is a bonus as well. We will definitely return and would recommend this hotel

Wonderful Short Break Recently had a two night short break at this beautiful hotel. On site parking is a great bonus and upon arrival had a very quick & easy check in. Front reception was very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful perfectly located on the ground floor as the trip also included my dogs. The hotel is very well situated as the main square plus all of the wonderful shops and tearooms are just a short walk away. The beds are amazing, the comfiest I’ve slept on, the room was also spotlessly clean. Breakfast thoroughly enjoyable with a large selection from both the continental options and the main menu. Stow on the Wold is an idyllic place to visit. Will definitely book to stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Just returned from an incredible 50th birthday surprise party (mine!) with friends at The Sheep. Impeccable rooms. Superb Service. Gorgeous grub. From subtly helping to hide early arriving guests, to helping hang balloons in the party room, staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you for an unforgettable evening.
